  1. Hey Sharky - Cool stuff. I really think you're onto somethin good here. He looks happy and like a Bill Murray type of voice would work with him. I think his fingers look a bit too square to my eyes. In the perspective view where his breasts come together at the neck area it looks a bit too sharp, like a V. Disregard if these are conscious choices or if you're pleased with him the way he is. I look forward to seeing him all textured. Doug
  2. Sharky - Would like to see larger pics of each angle. Looks cool so far. Doug
  3. Funny when I read this I thought ...hey I wonder if Gerry is a house painter? But I take it you are painting 'scenery' as in ... nevermind. Doug
  4. Hey, didn't he have a broken tooth before? Or was that a different Orc? I tend to mix up my Orcs. Looks swell. What are your animation plans? Doug
  5. Jeepers ! Love this. I'm with Vern, its a tale of the classic 'torn between two lovers' (feelin' like fool, love both of you is breakin' all the rules). Love the texturing and the overall concept is so cool. Lip heads, whooda thunk it? Doug
  6. Thanks Sharky! I'll finish it though it will be awhile. This one is my 'when I get time' project. My short is taking precedence. Doug
  7. Zach - Man oh man, let me be the first (well here anyway) to heartily congratulate you and the team. I can't believe how much you accomplished in the time given you !!! This is further proof story is king. Very well written and directed. People - take the time and download this film. You won't be disappointed. I cannot wait for the directors cut. My hat is off to you all (and the sun is burning my head). Great JOB !!!! Doug
  8. Hey everyone. I'm posting this thingie for the heck of it. This has been my diversion on and off for a bit. Very much a WIP and i pretty much know where I'm going with it but as always I'd love to hear what anyone thinks. Cheers. Doug
  9. Thanks guys for the replies. Yah, ok. I'll do that. I think so too. She looks more like i envisioned her. Believe me I know that ! I look nothing like I envisioned so many years ago. Doug
  10. Sharky - You might also *pester* Parlo as he seems to be another resident lipsync guru. Check his recent wip's. Stunning. Doug
  11. Another hair update. *note* I did not model the hair. I took it off the CD from the Jane model (merely as an experiment, but man do I like the look). If I could model her hair like this I would. If not, is it legal to use a portion of another's model in one's project? I'm pulling my own hair out trying to get what's in my mind ! Comments welcome as always. Cheers. Doug
  12. Hello all, My short is moving along. I have a draft of the story and have begun storyboading. Attached is an update to Suzie's hair. Oh yes, and the 'happy couple' are now known as Adam & Suzie. Comments welcome. Thanks. Doug
  13. That is simply magnificent work! I would love to also see some views from within this scene. Honestly when I first saw this my eyes sort of bugged out. Great work. Oh and btw - change you're description, you ain't no newbie.
  14. Steve, Loved them all. Lovely stuff. Yes please do! I think this guy is brilliant. And thanks for the eye. Doug
  15. DarkLimit - Glad it continues. In either form you have a very unique and recognizable style. And I love how you brought out femininity in this simple model. Good job. Doug
  16. It is gorgeous. I remember seeing this entry a while ago. Did you finish it up in time? I see this short is coming into focus ... for us. I'm enjoying the show. Doug
  17. Deeeelicious. Looks swell with the new lighting too. The only minor thing that doesn't work for me is the blue railing. I said minor didn't I? Doug
  18. Thanks Glenn, Yeah, I dig. I'm trying for that Mary Tyler Moore thing but so far i'm not there. Well she's got 'em but maybe the lighting isn't helping that. Maybe I'll have to lengthen them. I think A:M's toon render is outstanding. I just discovered by right clicking on the toon render settings all the presets. Cool! Doug
  19. Heya Boys and Girls, Well I have decided to move ahead with this short. (wish I could edit the post title as its no longer a 'trial balloon'). Attached is Suzie and she is the lead female character in the short which I'm tentatively calling 'Dinner Party'. More on the story later. Lemme know what you think. Doug
  20. Thanks very much Pablo - I have tried and in fact I'm 90% sure that i'll be using toon rendering with the short that I've decided on - of which this character will be one of the players. However for this still, i'm unsure. I haven't much experience yet with toon rendering. Perhaps I'll do some tests on this image. Thanks for the suggestion. Doug
  21. Hey Ken, Take a look at the WIP on the scene that i've been working on. I dunno know if its the look you're after or not but the process is quite simple. look for the clouds The clouds are just flat patches. I applied 'glow' to them and voila. Again, ignore if this is not what you're after. Doug
  22. So where's today's update then Rodney? hehehe Just razzin ya. Doug
  23. Looks good and I think his sneakers look great. Doug
  24. I agree, that's great crtoonmike. Doug
