  1. Yes I'm going to use him in a 30 second animation. He's got bump mapping on him to give wrinkle effect. I don't know how to set it up to loop, but if you save it to your desktop, quicktime has that facility in Movie>Loop.
  2. I finally got my troll moving! Here's a 2MB WALK CYCLE There's something about his arms that I can't quite put my finger on so if you've any ideas...
  3. LOL Cheeky slug! Is that all one expression or is it made up of several(blinks/mouth open etc)?
  4. That's great lipsyncing. Obviously the expressions are abit muted. Amazing first effort.
  5. Wonderful stuff! I'd buy that.
  6. Great novel idea! No crits really.
  7. You can only attach an image or files like proj...I think. I believe animations need to be re-directed from your site. In any event, nothing bigger than 1mb is allowed.
  8. You've done well with what you had to work with. I still maintain that he's too spline heavy to animate well. Also, the model's size in kb is quite cumbersome. If you had the patience, you could delete all the "cross splines" and make 2 tris into 1 quad. That would probably improve it. But then there's the problem of continuity of the splines....oh I'll stop thinking about it.
  9. Normally, I ignore those question marked folders....I see them mainly on splines. I don't think deleting was the best thing to do and I guess you don't have a backup?
  10. Here's a great head tutorial: http://www.colins-loft.net/CoopFace.html And the general resource: http://www.lowrestv.com/arm/search3.asp?bo...ateAdded%20desc See page 128 of your manual for an explanation of a hook.
  11. Wow! That's fast learning! If you post the wire, we could try to sort out the eye area.
  12. Don't forget about "Post Effects" like film grain etc.
  13. That's not bad at all. How do you do that? With the Alpha channel?
  14. I've marked all the problem areas I could see. Number 1 is a continuity problem. The rest are problems of too many splines going through a cp. You haven't used any 5 point patches at all. You cannot make a face without them.
  15. Select the five points and then press the lock icon on the right tool bar. Now you can draw a bounding box around all the 5 points at once. This generally highlights the "make 5 point patch" icon. (I'm assuming you know what that is)
  16. Not at all. You'll just have to go back and edit the model. To do that, you would copy the half you want to work on. Then delete the model and paste that half back. The main problem area from the pic is the cheek. It just looks like the spline isn't continuous or maybe the cps are peaked?
  17. Great start. There are a few spline rings that cross the bridge of the nose that don't seem to be needed. You could either delete the whole spline or hook it off somewhere.
  18. Anything that helps you to think about improving your work is a good thing IMO. Even if one doesn't take advantage of it. No work is infallible.....cept maybe the Balrog
  19. Nice work! It's probably your style, but your eyes seem to be very sunken.
  20. You should adjust the handles before mirroring. Just use your mouse to move the handles...doesn't go crasy for me. I think you might mean it goes crasy on the other side. This is a problem with the current release and we're all hoping it will be addressed soon. It's to do with the pivot point. You can drag the porcelain material onto your model to make it smooth.
  21. A general outline of the project? Have you past experience of similar projects?
  22. Excellent! I'm sure you know, but there's just something about the paws that bugs me.
  23. Nice lightening! How was that done?
  24. That's great! Can you save to other(non-mov) formats too?
