... (spoiler) There will be a new webpage for v16. It will at least have a few more informations about A:M than the current one... See you *Fuchur*

Hi Moel, we are still here . A:M v16 will be launched in the next few weeks, with great stability-updates and netrenderer, an advanced network-rendering-tool with many great features included. A:M is now available in 64bit and 32bit, and has quite a few features more, so I don't know which once have been added especially since 2008. Did you have SSS and AO then? At least FastAO is newer and there are other features as well like Fluids (can't remember when they where implemented neighter... have to be the last 3 years so) and so on. Renderingspeed has improved A LOT (about 100% per core from v15 to v16) and A:M can, with the help of netrenderer take full advantage of up to 32 cores, if you have that many . You can see a few of the (from my perspective) greatest images in my signature so not all of them are new, a few are, etc. Bus Stop was the last Community-Project over here and there are many other examples created in the meanwhile. A:M v16 is very very clearly worth the money for a subscription! Hope to see you more often here soon Best wishes *Fuchur*

I'd say, he is changing the lightcolor that fast, that it doesn't take one frame. (you can scale the color-animation to less than a frame. It is the same method that is used to create softshadows with a very fast light and multipass. But this is a very nice found... will have to see how well it works. Thank you very much robert! Or animate the model in AM and export an OBJ for the geometrie and an mdd for the vertex animation. This however not changeable very well because it is animation on a vertex level and doesnt export the rig itself. AM seem to have a rather complex and cool rigging system based on constraints while other programms depend more on a expressionsystem... I think it is not easy to transfer all of them. See you Fuchur

HASH WIKI OLD What happened to all the info?
Fuchur replied to UNGLAUBLICHUSA's topic in A:M Tutorials & Demos
Just to mention it: http://www.hash.com/faq/ See you *Fuchur* -
It is mostly about cores, Win7 64 but a little although from the CPU, of course more RAM and so on. The question is: Will Win 7 64bit run fast enough on your old machine? Without core-improvements, you won't get 300 % of speedincrease... would be hard even with Intels most expensive i7s. You could wait for bulldozer for that... but it will at first be more expensive. See you *Fuchur*

Don't know... there was an i7 980x or something like that... that one should be faster. BUT it is so much more expensive... I think the 1090T has the best ratio between performance and costs for A:M so. See you *Fuchur*

Yoru welcome Nancy... I am sure there are more offerings out there... I just have a hard time finding them, because all the bigger websites identify me as German and give me German results. See you *Fuchur*

You know how expensive prebuilt can be VS selfbuilt once, right? Dell has 1090T-systems like: Dell Studio XPS 7100 HP offers 1090T-systems like: HP-Pavilion-Elite-HPE-570f-Black GateWay offers 1035T-systems like: Gateway DX4320-45 (small brother of the 1090T, still a 6-core, but less speed per core) Other than that you will get more pre-built once, if you can live with smaller brandnames. Example: http://www.ibuypower.com/Store/Gamer_Mage_550 http://www.titaniumgamer.com/Default.aspx?tabid=599 Sorry, I can't say anything about Service of HP, Gateway or Dell... I am never buying computers from them. It is just quite expensive. I like to get all the pieces I like and than let the shop where I buy them prebuilt them for me (have built a few by myself too, but it is just not worth the 20 Euros I have to pay for the prebuilding of the setup. I hope I could help. Best wishes *Fuchur*

Nancy, I recommend a x6 1090T to you. It is not expensive and quite fast, especially for the money and multithreaded applications. See you *Fuchur*

Yes, A:M and Modo, if I am not wrong. See you *Fuchur*

I'd say you are making yourself a hard time... `99 is very old, it will be hard for us to give you help on that version (I am quite sure that there are not many users which have that version installed today) and A:M has changed since then. (The principles of most stuff are the same, but I would recommend to work with the newest version. Otherwise you will have to relearn a lot of things after that for the newer versions. See you *Fuchur*

What Windows-Version do you use? Win 7 Professional 64bit? Or Win 7 32bit? If needed, I got A:M to use my full 8 GB of RAM for a project. I'd say you use 64bit already, and if you look not at the graph but at the numbers below it looks well. See you *Fuchur*

Thanks so much for explaining, Nancy! Yes, I was referring to "Prince". And I was talking about his suit. I had the expression, that you also used a reflection map on his suit, as it seems to have some kind of "glitter"... BTW. "Bitmap Plus"?! - have I missed something? What is it? Greetz, Elm. BitMapPlus is a quite cool material-plugin from Marcel Brickman (it is included with A:M nowadays), which can handle tiled textures in a much more advanced way than the other material-/decal-options. You can create one if you create a new Material, rightclick on the property and change its type to "KCI dnd > BitMap Plus" See you *Fuchur*

Sure you can move it, but you will have to reattach the library (if you are using it with the data-folder) to the new location. See you *Fuchur*

Looks great! Very nicely done! Thanks for sharing and thanks for doing it *Fuchur*

Very fun to watch! Very well done guys! *Fuchur*

You have to use another version of tsm. (by the way: originally tsm was developed for A:M). You can find it here: rigging forum about tsm See you *Fuchur*

Yes there is a new version. The subscription-version doesn't need the CD to be in the drive. This one however can only be used on one computer for one year. After that you will have to buy a new subscription to make it available for another year. You will be able to update your version while the subscription is active to the newest version available so (including major releases). But just to say it: Many users used A:M for years and years (including me) and didn't have any problems with the CD. See you *Fuchur*

As others said before... importing can take hours and the Taskmanager does misinterpret that. (normally I would not really recommend to wait as long... if the polygone-import really takes that long, the model will not be useable in A:M anyway... I imported several OBJ-files to A:M just fine. I think they improved the export / import in v13. BUT if you are importing high polycount-files you will have to wait and it is unlikely that you will have much fun with the converted models. A:M is just not made to handle such amounts of patches. These files can however be imported as props. A:M can handle many polygones there, but they are static than. Hope that helps a little. Basicly, as many have pointed out: Importing high polygon-counts is a no-go. Importing lowpoly-objects will take a little but work out just fine with a little readjustment. See you *Fuchur*

Just because of Cuda... otherwise I can't confirm that... Never had any problems with ATIs... anyway, a GTX 480 should work great. See you *Fuchur*

It is the girl on the bull. *Fuchur*

Please render to TGAs, PNGs or JPEGs first and after that use A:M or Super or some equal software to produce the final output. That can be done by importing the image-sequence and export that as a video-file from A:M. It will help you with many problems, will produce solid and reusable results and you won't loose anything when the rendering aborts at some point. See you *Fuchur*

From me too! Happy Birthday and thanks for all you are doing! See you *Fuchur*

I think (but I am not totally sure) that you get an subscription with the CD-version too... So if you buy a CD-version, you can use the subscription for one year to not having to put in the CD in the drive... After the year you have to use the CD or resubscripe so. See you *Fuchur*
