  1. In light of my coming in 4th for this month's image contest here is the link to a full body turn that I did a couple of weeks ago to see how the model was coming. On this version there was still some texturing to do but you can see a lot of the details. R2 Body Turn (2mb) Here's an early animation I did featuring 2-3-2 conversion. I know the movemtn is jerky bit I just wanted to see how things looked at the time. R2 2-3-2(2mb) Feel free to leave your C&Cs.
  2. Ooo.. Ooo... Ooo.. pick me. Over here.
  3. I like it. It's like a rasta or a hippy hippo.
  4. Nice shot. Too bad you couldn't finish it. It would be a nice shot to pull into PS and add a nice lens blur to. The following coment is completely self-motivated. I guess that just leaves more votes for me!! Ha, ha, ha , ha!!! (Just teasing)
  5. I curious why you would want to post your contest entry on here while the contest is going on? Isn't there a chance it could taint the vote? Or is that what you are looking for? I would think it would make more sense to just enter the contest with what you have that you're happy with. Then after the vote and winners have been declared post your image here and ask for critiques. It's like you're trying to play the judges: "Can I win now?" "No, fix A, B & C." "OK...fix, fix fix...Can I win now?" "No, fix D & F." "OK...fix, fix fix...Can I win now?" etc.
  6. I like how the blue & green circles overlap to make a third color under the logo. Nice job!!
  7. Create a bone just for the lips and do a translate to constraint. Watch this video. It may help you understand.
  8. Use a constraint to have the mouths stick together.
  9. It kinda looks like sock puppet love to me.
  10. Hey that means that maybe some of us poor schlubs might have a chance this month!!!
  11. I say 1 or 2 though 2 is a bit stronger and maybe blur and lower the opacity the drop shadows so they're not too distracting. They're just a bit too hard looking right now. 3 & 4 look like halloween cards to me because of the color combination.
  12. The only thing is, Jack didn't mention that he never slept during those 10 days.
  13. EH?!? Very dark, simplistic. A bit unorganized. Art, animation & VFX. Though looking at teh card I would not think that it's a very exciting or creative company. Just kinda bland and safe. With all respect, maybe it's time you take this to a graphic designer and let them have a crack at it. It's not that your designs have been all bad, but they've all been variations on a same theme - squares & blocks. I'm not saying this to offend but I believe that it's the strength of a man to be able to recognize his weaknesses.
  14. Stian, You mentioned that this is Colin's Carpaint material. Where do you get that from?
  15. How did you guys do the crowd? Did you use flocks? I know you didn't hand animate everyone of those folks
  16. Ohhhhhh, I thought that it maybe was the car company but I noticed I never saw a car in the ads so it didn't make much sense. I just wrote it off to the european mentality.
  17. Boy Adam, you're like a real foley artist over there!!
  18. Stian, I just want to say that you're doing a smokin' job on this. Well done, sir!!
  19. I'm noticing that his toes (especially on his right foot) are actually going into the hill. Beyond that I think it looks pretty good.
  20. No, I actually meant windscreen. When you've recorded and worked in audio as long as I have you know the difference and either way you can call it whatever you like. I said windscreen because most likely he used a handheld or headset microphone. To which a windscreen is the type that looks like a clown nose and covers the entire element of the mic. If he was using a large diaphragm mic or even an small diaphragm mic on a stand then a "pop filter" (not a popshield) should be used. Even though several mics, an AKG 414EB for example, include windscreens. The reason for using a pop filter is that the mylar is much more sensitive on condenser mic than it is on dynamic mics and so needs more protection against "plosives". Unfortunately with nylon pop filters you tend to pay the price of loosing some of your high end above 15k. One of the best pop filters available is by Stedman. Their pop filters use a metal baffle that actually redirects the air and is sonically transparent.
  21. Consider buying a windscreen.
  22. If you can afford to own this car you have your groceries delivered.
  23. Nice job! The only thing I noticed is that in tghe middle of the film after the robot gets hit in the head, he leans forward and you can see through his body to the boxes. All in all a very nice piece.
  24. Go out and look at your car. Maybe one overhead, a couple under the dash where your feet are. Perhaps a couple of map (spot) lights coming down. Also, if you do another rotation render consider raising the camera angle on one of the revolutions so we can see some of the upper body detail too. I liked the higher angle you had before.
