  1. Do it! I recieved my 2006 cd yesterday, will have to play with this A O thingy. Looks real nice, but i agree that you could push it further if you so wanted. Nixie
  2. Nice model! Simple and well put together, good luck with rigging all those dials! Aaver, thanks for the expressio. Might try it out on my spitfire's prop when i'm done If that's ok? Nixie
  3. Dont displacements only draw on screen when your views 'quality' is at maximum i.e. page up to the max! I dont have access right now or I'd check. Nixie
  4. certainly is. Im right in thinking that we can now displace 5 point patches properly now? because this will open many doors. Having used Zbrush also - I cant wait to sell some organs!! Anyone for a used liver? high milage but still life in the old girl! Nixie
  5. dude i'ts artistic license! But wow this is cool, I need to upgrade - but alas im a struggling student, il scrape it somehow - i must! So how well would this work with moving surfaces on a character say? or is it better to use normal maps? Cheers guys and The hashers! Nixie
  6. Very Nice work. I wouldnt mind seeing more of those, especially the astronaught guy - wires perhaps? Thanks Nixie
  7. Go on Rodders, Put me down too! Starving student needs to buy his family and girlfriend chrimbo pressies! (any ideas for those welcome too!) Tar and Merry Christmas! Nixie
  8. I guess the best way would be normal mapping, if yoiu have AM 2005 otherwise you could get away with a bumpmap. Nice by the way - you could get real nice photo-realism with something so simple Nixie.
  9. I think if you were going to improve thi then what as been said is a good start. more interesting lighting too perhaps. Overall though i really enjoyed watching that! thanks for sharing Nixie
  10. the basic proportions and shapes are good; it would benefit from a second pass though - go over all splines, tweaking and moving them around. Iv never tried to model a car yet so i cant really critique too much. Nixie
  11. It looks beautiful, Im really looking forward to this on completion; sorry about your troubles. Nixie
  12. Good, fits the diolouge very well Expressive and ' punchy'! Keep us updated! Nixie
  13. Thinking about balence, I think you ought to move his tail down a bit, so its more horizontal and less pointing upwards. As for a tip, its up to you! maybe a little arrow style point might make it cuter! Keep tweaking and smothing the mesh, try porcelain if you havent already and then I want to see you UV him! Nixie
  14. Ok! well I can try a Wink on it. Il do it when I have some more freetime! Thanks for the interest Jamagica Nixie
  15. Ok, i looked at the bunny/man. Iv modded him to how I would if it was my model so im sorry if it isnt appreciated! But I attached the head and hand, added a spline ring in his shoulder fixed a few splines here and there that were welded to the wrong direction and fixed him so he has an inner spline ring (for copy flip attaching) You don't have to use any of this but You could see where iv changed things to see if it helps in future. It's not perfect Nixie bunny_with_parts_modified_.mdl
  16. I remember you started your character, Post the model file if you wish, I'l look at it for you see if i can suggest anything, It's a shame that he isnt finished, it was coming along. Nixie
  17. This is helpful to learn little bits at a time. I'm a firm beleaver in challenging yourself though, why not try a really big project that will teach you alot? it's only an idea, but i find its best tolearn from your mistakes nixie
  18. Eric, I use the setup machine from Anzovin, it's a plug-in that basicly creates a skeleton (you choose what kind of joints how many limbs, fingers etc) Its a great rig and it makes the riging process simpler/quicker. At the bottom of the forum index youl find the anzovin forum, go see! Nixie
  19. haha, why not! Im still rigging atm but yeah, what is the next animation topic?? Nixie
  20. I'd try and position the legs in a standing position, you can use birds as reference for this really, osterich, emu etc will provide a similar position and show weight distribution. As for the body itself, Its not in the same league as the head! Just needs tweaking and maybe additional splinage here and there to bring it in line with the hed. Well done though Nixie
  21. Glad to be back! (with am) Nice helmet, I think you should apply the texture again though, the stretching is letting the rest down! Did you try flattening it somehow? Nice one though - Nixie
  22. Dog soldiers was a brilliantly bad film! One of those awfully put together things which is as a whole pretty good! Its a nice model so far, I presume your giving him wolf paw feet? his hands look odd too! good work though. Nixie
  23. See! 2dtv! I was laughing, thanks for the link! Nixie P.s. once you have a character, make facial expressions and phoenomes; make walk cycles its quick to do. so do it!
  24. Agep, If it's ok with you, I'd like to use your eye, (modified)? Ken, thanks. I guess it is just a bit thick, but from a distance it would look better I guess. Animation is exageration. Animation is Concentration as my Tutor would say! Nixie
