  1. and the wire, Cheers folks, in real life she looks a little better!
  2. Cheers Gonzo3d, I visited Colins site, but couldnt fint the uber eye, saw the tutorial though; I will follow it soon. If anyone has downloaded the model, do they have any suggestions? I want to get the splines 100% accurate before I move onto her body. I'm using porcelain and it seems to muck up the mesh on random occasions which is an annoyance since i'm going to aim for photorealism as much as possible. see the attached image to see what i mean (look at the ear lobe and pronounced lines throughout.) Again, thanks. Il take a screen grab of the wireframe for those not interested in downloading the model file. Kind regards - Nixie
  3. Im pretty rubbish with my mac, so if anyone wishes to look at it, here's the mdl Cant figure out how to do a screen grab! OT: I was using softimage today at university, AM is far more intuitive! Regards - Nixie Elliecrit.mdl
  4. Here is my latest attempt at a head, theres stil tweaking to be done but its a step in the right direction. I was hoping to use Yves skin shader, alas! Im on osx so i will have to remain patient! Once I remember how to flatten the mesh again I'll texture it. Anyone know of a good eye tutorial? Anyway critique welcome. Nixie
  5. Its no problem! Regards, Nixie
  6. Sorry to jump this thread, but Iv always wanted to have a go at animating the orc/warlock creature from a video of yours. Dont suppose theres any chance hel make an appearence anytime soon?
  7. that looks lovely! liking the colour scheme and water, Is this for a job then? Any more info? Nixie
  8. Thats really nice! I think that would make a very interesting 3d render. And Im not sure how the gallery works. Nixie
  9. Maybe you could enter the next animation contest, topic: mad! talking to yourself is the first sign of madness so im told! Gradient looks good, I actually liked the colour of the other one though! looked like a pleasent dusk scene. Nixie
  10. Where is the man himself?! Very helpful John this is worthy of more than one beer! Nixie
  11. Agreed! Nicely done!
  12. Hello! Looks great; are you going to animate him? with that amount of hair, id imagine it would take ages to render! looks very good though for such a short time! When you say you will try a displacement map, what for? Id add a bump map for some wrinkles but displacement maps are generally for much more severe shaping situations, perhaps adding a decal with drawn hair as colour and bump maps could look good. keep going bro! Nixie
  13. looking great, a subtle splash of a colour theme and some nice lighting would do it wonders. is it going to be sandy or rocky? did you get the light to project a fake caustic? perhaps projecting a looping video would be good for animation? Nixie
  14. that truly is inspiring work there! Thankyou for sharing... Nixie
  15. and here i mapped and added a hair length map, Dirty! Nixie
  16. A minor update here, havn't had time to actually attach the ears as of yet, but found a little time to mess with the v 11 hair which is fantastic! i was only mucking but i wanted to share anyway!
  17. that looks to be hilarious! Nixie
  18. absolute hilarity! i like it; totally bonkers! Nixie
  19. Minor update ear! hahaha hmm any ways, I attempted lathing the ear but found laying one down from scratch to be a far more rewarding process, if a little laborious. attaching is not my strongpoint, so im really not looking forward to sticking this fella on. regards Nixie
  20. Cool, thanks Zaryin, im glad you did; I hope you find the time to carry on with this guy. He has a great style! Nixie
  21. Mike hart, It could be the camera angle, I have tweaked but not alot; probably the porcelain, it does smooth the mesh but yeah it takes away the subtle splinage I took ages fiddling with! Mike Fitz, I understand, il test some poses with what I currently have, if its no good then I may have to implement what you have said. thanks for the advice! Zaryin, Im not going to argue with you with an avatar like that! a little off-topic, but is that done in am? iv'e been wanting to see that creature in an image for a while now; any linkies? and off topic again, I think some-one should set up a 'what time zone are you in' poll!
  22. looks great! cant wait to see the knights and horses armour? Welcome to the wonderful world of spline! Nixie
  23. yeh, I think the hands ought to be a little larger too, looks great, keep going!
  24. sounds v promising mr baker! that robot is cute, looks like he could provide light releif to the story? regards Nixie
  25. Right now heres an update; I have finished the back of the head and most of the neck is finished. found the joys of porcelain too! If its okay with my friend Il give this mesh to the community when im done. But im not! Ears are going to be difficult, I see so many good ears on here; do you guys lathe and delete half and tweak or what? or just knit the splines from scratch? thankful of any guidance! Nixie
