3D work will be seen by thousands today!
nixie replied to D.Joseph Design's topic in Work In Progress / Sweatbox
Haha, I can see it now, Vern as the front man, Daniel on an organ; a coming together of ex - mennonites and Christians, What sweet music such a band would create... Regards - Nixie -
That would look great with depth of field set up with a high multipass (have to be very high at that resolution!) maybe some colour too but not alot Regards - Nixie

(so I can start even again for my second year at Uni!) As for harry potters house elf, Im not a big fan but iv been told this before, Trying to make him look distinctive isnt easy it seems! Regards - Nixie

Yeah, the nice thing about cg 3d is that it doesnt dry! the model sheet was the main reference for the splined version. I expect il spend a while tweaking yet! hopefully Il keep him looking as little yoda' ish as possible, but i see what you mean scott! tar - Nixie

Hes a goblin of sorts yes, Thats actually part of the story, what is he? but anyway theres lots to be done before its through, I need him to look loveable but at the same time i need to be able to make him look sinister (using lighting or not alot of it anyway!) Im working on his body now which will probably take me a while. Regards - Nixie

Hey, Just wanted to show and gather oppinions as I develop this project. I don't want to rush this short so before I started modeling i spent weeks trying to finalise just one of three/four characters! Named just Gobelah right now - hes a goblin of sorts. here is a side view but bear in mind i think id preferr bigger ears.

Spooky! where did you hide that coffee pot?! Seven - you are a joker! Thats made my day! regards - Nixie
-
seven, You spend so long thinking outside of the box, I wonder if you know what its like to think inside it?! - along those lines could you put the camera inside the coffee pot? Id imagine it would become something altogether different... Stirring things up a little! - Nixie

Do you know who this is supposed 2 be?
nixie replied to bentothemax's topic in Work In Progress / Sweatbox
Nice, Aardman characters are quite simple, they should all transferr to splines very nicely id imagine. I met the founder of Aardman (guy who did morph) recently at Annecy Animation fetival in the south of france; Nice guy. He chatted about the new wallace and gromit film - sounds awesome! Id like to see some animation with this guy though...? Regards - Nixie -
Seven... you are crazy! What is your motivation? something other than coffee i'm guessing! well its a nice model with a nice texture; I'd reccomend adding that same texture as a bump map set to a low amount and maybe a small amount of specular highlight - but I agree not everything needs to look like plastic. Regards - Nixie

Inspiring work there, thanks for sharing. Nixie

Very nice attention to detail, I know little about odin as is written but as a model it looks good to me! As your strengths seem to be in the detail, perhaps adding more variation in skin tone and perhaps some eyelashes? that bad eye might be a little more swollen, bruised and generally nastier looking perhaps? Personally id be very proud of what you already have though. been playing alot of resident evil 4 recently, looking at this post made me want to reach for a shotgun! Regards - Nixie

mmm stunning work! I preferr the smother sheen of the untextured version, the texture looks a little rustic and colourful for such a finely crafted peice! Awesome work none the less
-
that is an awesome lot of textures, did you hand paint them in p shop? It was Den Deauvais who made the dragons i think. Regards - Nixie

I think what colin means is focal length yes, set it to 22 to get a sleeker elongated look to your model, similar to images in car magazines etc. Give us a traditional render too; it'd make a good poster! You could get good photo-realism with a smooth but detailed mesh like that, very impressive! Regards - Nixie

That is a magnificent beast! I cant wait to see it fully mapped! Regards - Nixie
