I modeled a head to help in the Douglas' project then he ask me how I did it... I restarted the process but this time I recorded it. It took me 22 minutes then I decided to increase the video speed. The modeling is a dinamic system thus this model isn't the same as the first, there is some diferences in the splines but the result is the same. I hope you enjoy it. if you have some question, please be my guest to comment.

Awesome Marcos ----yes if you could slow it down a little would help otherwise you have to stop and go a lot to follow. But this is great none the less. Thanks .

If possible could you slow it down a notch. I want to try and follow along.

Don't forget that there are several ways to slow down video via youtube.

One is to view the video in HTML5 enabled view.

Of course then you'd lose Marcos's relaxing music... (I suppose you could play the faster version in the background though)

You can watch it even faster too! ;)

(Watching someone model fast is a good way to get rapidity going in your own methods)

Marco

Thank you for posting this.

If I'm not being rude, would it be possible to post it to the forum as well, so I can download and watch it many times?

I will do that Rodney. Trust me I stayed up to one in the morning doing this. I will watch it both slow and fast. Marco is a genius.

A head needs a body :)

here is it...

Character

The front rotoscope sometimes doen't match with side rotoscope then I adjust the model to fix it.

I want to clarify, this is a quick model and it needs more refinement but basically these are the splines.

Fascinating! & speedemonissimo par excellence!

And I agree, there are many ways to model...I particularly like Malo's approach of "extrusion", because it doesn't require rethinking. In summary: all humanoid heads, bodies have same basic topology, start with lathed shape and keep refining by adding loops for eyes, mouth, arm, leg holes, etc

Perhaps, I shall try my hand at using Malo's method to demonstrate another approach (head model only)...uh...but since I'm sloowww and lacking your modeling expertise and acumen...I'll probably be back in a day or so with an example

Yes there is much to be learned from Marcos!

Here's link to Malo's generalized method for modeling a character - it may be a little difficult to follow because of awkward language (non-native English speaker, but eons ahead of me in expertise). The illustrations are terrific.

I've already done your head using Malo's method. I will post, even tho my result is not as smooth as I would like, or that Malo or Marcos, or Will, or many others etc etc would do. I have to go out shortly, so will post screen shots later to show the steps using his method (maybe 18-20 steps).

I can't wait to see it.
