  1. goto this site you'll find alot of stuff there... http://www.kci-group.com/z/ in case you miss the link... http://www.kci-group.com/z/plugins.htm hope it helps...
  2. MAN DON'T DO THAT!!!! it took me for ever to stop looking at it....
  3. well look at this way, every thing doesn't need to be connected(thats how i see it)...also some plugins would help...do you have the primitive plugin?
  4. yeah it is, i made it for the mario project, the arms are a bit long though.... if you want modeled grass all you have to do is make one curved blade of grass copy/paste/ and rotate it a few times then add it to the choreography multiple times....
  5. hey man, you know my render has improved since your last model....any chance once your done with this i can do it again? just ask'in... sweet car though, looks like fun...to model and drive....man i really need to get my permit...GAH I WOULD HAVE IT NOW IF IT WEREN'T FOR THE REQUIRED 40$ DRUNK DRIVING CLASS!!!!! I WANNA DRIVE T_T....
  6. so you finally get a chance to work on this a year later? like i said before you still rock and i still suck at monsters lol , but i'm pretty much good at every thing else now...
  7. dude i told you man the bust(or chest or any other form of the word) isn't right...
  8. yeah dude, I've actually gone from A:M to Maya smoothly lol! you relate things to how they work in your other program right? sweet model though! what program did you use btw?
  9. Fliped normals? the grass could be upside down....
  10. true. and also do more than just a light shining above. heres what you do... 1. make that light you have a spot light, change the shadows to z-buffered, change the shadow darkness to your liking, then set the shadow smoothness to any ware from 50 to 100%, also turn off specularity. also do have it just above make it angled... 2. make a second light behind it(everything), i would prefer a bulb light. in its options turn off every thing but specularity. then change the light intensity to 1000% or higher. 3. next in the lady bugs shell options. change the bugs specularity intensity to 10% and its size to 2000% or over. you can do the same to the eyes too. 4. in the render settings (in the tools tab) goto plug-in shaders and select oren naylar. no need to change the setting here. 5. some focal blur could help as well...when you turn it on you'll find two purple lines on the camera move those to determine the focal distance, this adds a nice blur to the background that add focus to the scene... what i just listed should give you this effect but heres the thing i really think the scene needs...an environment, just sitting on a plane doesn't really cut for a ground. you know what I'm saying? hope that helps...
  11. nice man not bad, but the bust is still a little weird looking...
  12. get a tablet pc, it will do you good... thats what i'm getting, its great for 3d and painting programs. its kinda required for me...i miss my pencil sometimes... nice vid Chris!
  13. maybe you should practice more, do something small... then move back to this....
  14. sorry to disappoint but..that doesn't look like aura.... look at the eyes man... also use this as an image reference....
  15. heres a tutorial on painting an eye, you could just focus on the eye part.... http://forums.cgsociety.org/showthread.php...66&t=227727
  16. not bad... the bust is a little off though....and it seems slightly fat....scale it thin, lol
  17. i could try, i normally draw my own characters, but it shouldn't be a problem...
  18. some people form textures from pictures taken, i've never done it though, so i really don't know.....
  19. oh i finally decided to actualy read the first post (lol lazy), and anyway yeah i use it for that....in fact the tree in this image was used with hair...and an image from the site i linked above...
  20. i can model that room....yeah looks like no problem.....
  21. if your looking for textures.... http://www.anniemation.com/textures/flowers.html
  22. sometimes materials aren't always the way to go...a texture(image) would be better used... heres some links http://www.mayang.com/textures/ http://local.wasp.uwa.edu.au/~pbourke/texture_colour/ then things like cracks and dents can be used along with these.... also this plugin should help as well... http://www.darksim.com/html/simbiont.html but these are best for regular 3d(nontoon) and increase render times significantly...
  23. ok, btw i'm having some toon render problems(maybe cause i haven't used it in a while), but i'll tyr and get it right and see what i'm doing wrong....
