Its funny (LONG STORY SHORT no such thing as the Brontosaurus, its called the Apatosaurus. But honestly the entire group of animals that look like that are called sauropods) I remember the Brontosaurus. But I have 3 dinosaur books and many dinosaur toys that look like this guy and none of them have his name. So I decided to look up why. From what I gather the guy who discovered the first Brontosaurus bones called it a "Apatosaurus" But a different guy found bones very similar but much bigger and assumed it was a different species and called it the "Brontosaurus" But they were the same animal just different ages. Unfortunately because the Brontosaurus guy didn't have all the bones and didn't even have the head he grabbed a head from a different species of dinosaur and stuck it on. I think he also broke some bones so that the tail would drag a long the ground as was his conventional thinking. And for years this was what we knew to be the Brontosaurus. By the way the head he used was the Camarasaurus which was the most common of these animals called the sauropods. .

Interesting I have never liked using AM via Mac OS for various reasons. Unfortunately I am a mac guy and do everything else on mac. This has always been an issue. The solution for years was a dual boot system on the mac into Windows. But that too was a pain because of having to shutdown the mac and restart. And less integration between what I am doing on the mac and what I am doing on the PC via th emac. New solution Windows 7 running on the mac on the mac OS via VMware Fusion. Only cost like $40.00 Same Render speed even though its emulating and no issues as of yet.

I vote for this. It was made recently. It shows off the power of AM. Lighting Sub surface scattering Decaling Hair All 4 stars I think you could put AM V17 between the blades of the tool. The previous artwork submitted is nice. But to me It represents the power and features of AM around 2002-2004 Its 2012 guys. We need to represent and this guy did it. Back Story on the Alien bust. The poor artist that made both of these beauties Made the Alien back in mid 2008. To date I have not seen an organic model created in AM to be its equal although Stains work with the pixy is a close 2nd. Back to my back story. I Remember when Ziran made the Alien and he one the contest Hash used to ever every few months. Unfortunately although he won he slipped through the cracks and his image was never even feature on the Hash home page. It was an honest mistake someone had made. I know this will ruffle some feathers but I say we do a revote and add the killer kid picture to the contest. Yes the subject matter is hard core but so is AM V17. AM V17 IS a Killer APP!!!!!!!!!!

These would look great off in the distance but look synthetic up close.

My God you are talented. How many hours are in this character? Superb work as always. I really think you should do a video tutorial on making this character. I would purchase it.

2 of 4 is up. All the cameras are simply there right now for ease. Use the green render lock for the camera mode and hit the 1 key to move around. Its an easy way to see whats going on very quickly all around your subjects. In practice on future projects you will not need to do this but for us right now we can use this method to easily see if the light source is correct and the reflections are correct no matter what method we use whether it be IBL, shaders or material to generate them.

Yes I will and no it was not. But AM can do better than that.

Yes it seems to me that if you want you r ibl to match a reflection generated from a environment map material, the projection map material needs to have its scale x -100. But I could be wrong. I would test a an unwrapped probe with a word on it to indicate if I am correct in that we are seeing the right thing or a dyslexic mirror.
