  1. Funny werewolf/bear costume! First one did look more froglike than doglike
  2. John! Hey Mikey! John's modleing! John, I really like her! I dunno 'bout riggin her... But If I recall in TAO A:M you could eliminate the feets and the hands, like you would with Thom... but I'm not 100% certain of that... Way to go! push yourself, you can do it! and You've got a good start on her!
  3. Sorry you didn't make the mechanicals contest... The way things look for you and me... Maybe we can be in next year's... You with the Chevy, me and T dogg with the batmobile... And I haven't forgotten my typewriter yet either... Damn real life, anyway! It sure get's in the way of havin' fun with Hash... er A:M...
  4. Robert, In my experience, nothing else can be done while rendering... my suggestion? Close the communtiy winodw before rendering.
  5. http://www.colins-loft.net/tutorials.html that should get you there
  6. Rich, Nice "take!" try sorenson 3 to compress your files... you won't get the quality... but you'll get the point across.. just as well.
  7. Professional being a key word if you want to be taken seriously.
  8. Dhar, We gotta win a contest! Thanks for bringing this back to top, Mike... I was going schitzy over spelling and such in other threads... I look forward to seeing this at home, don't have QT at work.
  9. Dude, Pay her more! You gets what ya pays fer. Add all the appropriate smiley faces here.
  10. Good for you! First thing to do with your fortunes: Hire a seceratarie to do yor pres releeses!
  11. Pic #1 no one else not "no one ells" attempted not "tempted" (or could be "has been tempted") Pic #2 steam gun not "steem gun" Pic #3 no spelling errors... (no words!) Pic #4 Deactivated not "Deactavated" Pic #5 Activated not "Actavated" Pic #6 Attack not "Atack" Pic #7 Too much to edit, grammar and spelling. Sorry, Spelling and grammar are important if you are going to use text to explain things.
  12. agree with Stuart on this one (again)... Truck appears to be in wrong lane less time, and well into correct lane when she "reacts" and veers into his lane...
  13. "Feels" much better to me now, David... I am less likely to blame the lady in green now... Interesting, how the tweaks have changed my take on this...
  14. John, I really liked the over all feel of the piece and it was very nicely done. I have to agree that it is difficult to impossible to read the handwritten facts through the birds.. That would be helped immensely if the text scrolled down rather than up... (but maybe that's the way they read "down under?").
  15. Having been in an accident that I was trying to avoid (by, oddly enough, going into the wrong lane as she did), I can certainly relate to that... took me two years (and ten sugical procedures) of recuperation before I could work again. No airbags on "donorcycles" (which is what the orthopedic floor calls motorcycles). So, I would probably have done what she did, and gotten hurt, too... What I'm "seeing" though, in your reenactment gives me the impression that there was enough time for her to stay in her lane and be okay. That said, David, please realize that I am talking only of what I "see" with no narration or explanation from the juris doctors... He fessed up, he was cited, those factors alone should convince a jury... Her part in the accident was only her natural reaction in trying to avoid an accident. Again, having been in such an accident, it is amazing how things "slow down" like "bullet time" in a Matrix movie while the accident is occuring. Showing that, of course, would make it seem as though she even had more time...
  16. Yeah, but when the accident occured, he was in the correct lane? Did he fess up, or were there skid marks where he jerked back into his own lane? I was only kidding about the driver getting out... Of course we would! Based on what I see, were I a juror, I might have trouble convicting the truck driver, as the green car assumed that he was going to be in the wrong lane when it arrived at that point and steered into it. My race car training tells me to aim for the spinning car in front of me, as it will probably be gone when I get there. Charlie AKA "Bubbabob Geargrinder" (who's not fond of NASCAR, prefers road course racing, has never had race car training, but wishes he had)
  17. This is interesting.. the truck ('mater) WAS in the wrong lane. Then, it was in the correct lane. The driver of the green car jumped out before the sequence takes place because he "just knew" it was gonna end this way. And the green car, not having much of a mind of it's own, attempted to avoid the accident by going where the truck ('mater)wasn't (at the beginning of the sequence) and ended up hitting the truck anyway. Is your guy representing green car or 'mater?
  18. Well, I'm not certain about this, though I thought of doing it. Here's what I see as a problem... you load a 3/4 bidseye roto in the front view and turn the model to match. how much in each axis did you turn it? so that you can restore it to the orignal front view. the work around is, of course, to save the model before moving it. but it gives me the heebies just because it might get "lost" into the corrupted model circular file somehow.
  19. Stian, you scare me! The detail in modeling is amazing! As quickly as you are doing this, you could give Greg Rostrami a run for his money, and he's only modelling a vase! LOL... whip through this as a demo at the shows, and you'ld scare alot of the "power brokers" (with their megabuck) programs to death!
  20. The "bullet time" doesn't seem to work so well... it almost apears as though the bullet goes backwards... I think you need some sort of transition from real time to "bullet time." Maybe it's just a matter of anticipation or exaggerated moves, and or a change in camera or camera angle... somehow not as believable as "bullet time" in the matrix movies.
  21. With an eye to seeing how I'm progressing on the hood, I've copied R. Reynold's post pic from before, done a screencap of the hood model, cropped it and overlayed it on the pic with some transparency...here is the result, along with shaded wires, shaded alone and the model so far as a zip file. [attachmentid=17971][attachmentid=17972] [attachmentid=17973] It is getting closer, but is requiring alot of smoothing/tweaking... If anyone sees problems that may be easy to correct, I'd appreciate input. To me, It looks like perhaps I have too much of an upward angle on the hood, as the scoop is somewhat taller over the middle than the real BM. I realize I have to lower the height of the "beak" that comes out of the scoop. And obviously smooth some patches. It really is a bit like doing hammer and dolly work on real sheet metal. And the kinks that show up in the model also appear on the real deal.... Here's todays model file: [attachmentid=17974] I wish there were a way (and perhaps there is???) to have a roto in birdseye view, where the model can be turned/scaled to match the roto, but where the roto itself doesn't move... I think I know that focal length of the real life camera shot might not make this a terribly accurate method... but it would be a boon to checking work. hood07506.zip
  22. Here's a method that has worked for me (although not with a car, the top view of a car might be a bit hard to get). I did this with the old IBM electric typewriter I'm working on. Google for Ford or Mercury car clubs or museums. Find "your" car... Email the owner and ask him to take pictures of his car... offer him "credits" in the finished model's information. You want pix of both sides, front, and rear from the same distance. You'ld also like a top pic if possible... and it is possible if his garage has open rafters... but he has to climb up there to take them... All pix should be from the same distance away, with one camera, car filling the frame on the (2) side and top pix. same distance away for the front and rear pix. Believe it or not, if you tell them what you are trying to do, and if they are "into it" you will get someone who can and will help you. If they have a website about their car, and you offer them the finished model (preferably animated) to use on their site, they'll probably be more than happy to help. It HAS worked for me... your mileage may vary... Good luck!
  23. here's the hood model so far... still needs a bit of tweaking... but I am really close. sheesh... I've used s. gross' smooth plugin and installed a couple three 5 pointers... and it still isn't just how I want it. Any who, here's the mdl file:[attachmentid=17778].. No CFA done yet, permanently. the last post of a CFA with color was just a test. hood.zip
  24. Man, Stian... You are wicked good at mechanical modeling. 86,000 patches! yoikes! It's a thing of beauty, though. Is this all one model? Or, are you assembling in chor? The Bismarck certainly has more bells and whistles than the batmobile, and I'm struggling with that, can't imagine what patience it would take to model something this complex! Just---WOW!
  25. that was just a screen cap of the model window. Here's where I got the information on the "cerise" strip color :cerise color and here's the comparison to other colors: [attachmentid=17750]
