  1. nah, not too many. After all Agep's Bismack has 131,000 patches... But he's assembling in the chor not in a model window. Just encouraging you to stay as lean as you can.... I've seen somebody mention difficulties over 6000 patches... and that could be totally unrelated.
  2. I know three four letter words! I'm gonna say 'em right now! In alphabetical order, (so as not to show any preference)! Cover your ears! Ready? AGEP HASH XTAZ And they're all good words! I Dunno what else to say... The last few days have brought us fantastic renders done with Hash A:M by agep and xtaz. The software is inspirational, the renders by these guys are inspirational... just WOWW! (another 4 letter word)
  3. Stian, Uh, do you get any sleep? Couple of things here, dude... 1. You're leaving us all in the dust (no one could keep up with this level of modelling in this short a time) good for you! 2. The quality and speed with which you model should have you working full time for somebody, or if for yourself, too busy to spend time doing this for entertainment. Also, good for you! 3. I know this is three things... I can't believe no one has made it possible for you to change your signature line. I think Ken is right. I'll just cry.
  4. T, Why, that looks like the Batmobile! It's coming along great.... What's the patch count? I think you'll find that you can eliminate a few splines and still get the contours well defined. On the body now, tweaking is the thing to do. I can't tell you how well you're doing... It's pretty obvious, you're doing fine. Keep it up... Remember, there are a ton of details inside, and on the top, that are gonna take alot of splinage and patches... That's why I asked before how many patches. Not that A:M won't handle it... but that it will render more quickly with fewer calculations. Keep going, man... IT IS REALLY LOOKING GOOD!
  5. It looks good, except depending on the angle, the branches that he is firing through, maybe one should break off... That, or composite grunge on the stocks... "you takes your pick!" Still looks good, Though, I see what you mean about the ejection port on the closest gun in the first shot....
  6. Funny you mention the booties! In the head on shots on both they almost looks like horse's hooves with red stockings. That was my original thought...I mean, I know they're feet... it just looks like... well, horse's hooves! I agree with you about resculpting.. It certainly makes life easier. And I wonder why so few take advantage, as well.
  7. Wow! seeing the before shot really shows off what you did... Very nice!
  8. John apparently does! Emilio LeRoux developed it... It is now in A:M. You can find info here sweeper
  9. I think it looks great... I'd like to see before the compositing... It looks prettty realistic to me.
  10. Bwahahahah! that makes me laugh... but before I can see what's wrong with splines... gimme a wireframe!
  11. Sheepishly raising hand for small, insignificant stuff... models only please... I'll give it a go... Still got some champing (me included) at the bit over the "Jobs Forum," BTW...
  12. it's looking great... I just read Erics thread about the saleen.... Every time he touches it it gets smoother.. and he's able to cut patch count. You're doing a great job T, Keep it up.. I'll catch up somehow... maybe sleep is overrated?
  13. XtaZ! Thank you for sharing. I voted for it... I really really was impressed by the brickwork.
  14. asians tend not to age so much.. until very old... just an observation. Otherwise, I think too much wrinkling... But that's not to say it doesn't match YOUR character... It's just "over the top" aging from MY perspective.
  15. if the classroom setting will be using PC rather than Macs, I can suggest Movie Plus 5 by Serif as a non linear editor. Otherwise at a loss. www.serif.com should get you there. direct link
  16. Uh, mage... Ya know the eyes are closed, right? I mean, you did read the entire post, dude, right? I mean... well never mind, know what I mean?
  17. the wrinkes on the forehead appear too wide. Based on the darkness around the eyes (not the makeup), and the wrinkles around the mouth, she must be a smoker. Perhaps she has no hair, having just gone thru Chemo for the lung cancer (and that's why she's wearing the beret/hat). This is nice modeling in all, post more
  18. answer to your first question is that it can be done, unfortunately, I can't help you with how. To the second question I do not believe it peaks every point.. This whole thing might be faster answered in the Animation:Master forum
  19. Moving the pivot also has worked in certain instances, i read it in a tute but can't remember where. was the spline you selected (shift left click) on the Y axis or did you click near the neck where the selected spline may have been along the x axis? That's all I can think of... Kens a far better modeler... as is rusty... maybe they can help
  20. After you select the group you want to CFA, select one of the splines along the Y axis (shift click between two points on one of the Y axis splines) I have found it also helps to have the center (to be) very close to the central axis line. That may help, or I'm talking out my butt 'cause I'm not 100% certain that's the whole solution.
  21. Scary patch count... man, that could stand to be optimized... but I'm lovin' it... just the way it is.
  22. In the PWS window (project work space) right click (ctrl click on mac?)on the completed/assembled model... save as. To import a model into a project... start your (existing or new) project upper left corner file open model
  23. Well, in many ways it's better to learn by trial and error... we really learn what we're doing wrong, and can see why we should do it differently.... You are doing great, and you're right, by the time we've worked through this... we'll both be better modellers
  24. Stian, Excellent work, as usual. I agree with all of Martin's crits... but for one thing... The virtual alligator is a mechanical prop for a movie. It probably wouldn't look any more real than it does. The actual filming of the movie, with the head in motion, would make it look more realistic. So, we have many levels of "unreality." I really liked it Stian. You're so quick and precise in modeling, I can certainly see you filling alot of needs in the Jobs Forum coming soon!
  25. T, Looks like you got quite a bit done over the last couple of days! glad to see you back at it. Now, don't take the following to harshly, please. You've gotten farther than I have, so I have no room to talk. But, if I had the room, this is what I would point out. [attachmentid=18196] The reason I ask about porcelain, is that the area looks a bit too rounded. The peaky areas that I pointed out before in the fender well area (back a few posts) look as though they've been smoothed over with bondo (too much of it, averaging the curves which is what porcelain does). T, I gotta say, you are doing really well... I've said it before, I should be asking you for help. Yours definitely looks like the batmobile... Mine looks like a hood in progress. Keep it up.
