  1. Seven hours to render? Yikes... that scares me... Is it because of radiosity? I looked at your hardware... so I'm wondering why the length of time... I remember 36 hour renders on a 486... Seems a 46 or 4700 with your Ram should be faster... But understand, I know nothing... Otherwise I like it are you talking about the "fisheye" in the leftmost shadow? Charlie
  2. The mic seems out of context.... It cannot look more like a real mic. I don't think that will "fix" it... You have a goth (for lack of a better term coming to mind) cross. you have a modern "icon" for a mic. At the "time" of the cross (This one appears to have a somewhat Christian refererence) there were no mics.. This one is a poser... all I can think of to say is to make them from the same "era" modernize the cross (You can still have the blood and nails...) or antiquify the mic ( I dunno how to do that...) That's how I "feel" about it and it's hard to put into words.
  3. Shadow... roll your mouse cursor over the bottom half ofhis avatar, click on it. you will get the mov. use the back button on your browser when done or log in again Charlie
  4. John, It's almost like the light turns off for the one frame in the QT (maybe more in real rendering?... you said "rerender frameS") I don't think it's a "ghost" I think a light turns off... Now, keep in mind I don't have a current version to play with and try to understand, is it possible a slider for a light inadvertently slides down in one frame... or that you started keying with that one light down and that frame got stuck in the middle? Can you check light sliders for each frame? (Or tell the lighting guy to stay out of the way?) I agree with VZ on this... I was looking at the ani and closed its window and was booted out of the forum cause I didn't use my back key... Minor frustration... but Respectfully, Charlie
  5. C&C I like the feel of the warehouse. It's close to accurate (I work in such a "hole" on occasion)... yours is brighter than my real thing. I beams look a bit more like they have the patina of old copper rather than rusty steel. (could be my monitor). Boxes are nice. Wherever they came from. They could use some age, too. (In our warehouse we found old WWII Civil Defense tins) 5gal tin bucket lined to hold potable water doubles as a latrine Some of the boxes had lemondrops, crackers, aspirin and some first aid stuff As soon as I upgrade I'm gonna get Sweeper... I like your warehouse! More modern than what I work in! Charlie
  6. First we need to know why is he jumping? It is said in synch lips that he is jumping for yoy, not to well i think. Is he happy that he is in the back instead of foreground having to explain? Maybe if we meditate on his jumping it will continue to end of time looping for eternity. I will consider what you have posted and meditate on its geopolitical correctness in light of headlines and get back to you on this.. But thank you for the tutes in wink which are informative and rational. I cannot find any suitable links to explain jumping for yoy... so I cannot provide any looping linking for you... Better to try thinking on your own this one.
  7. IIRC it was a video card... just one... you have to remember, this was years ago... (i think they were upgrading from stone tablets!) prolly before NDA's anyway... I started my computer biz back in 1991-2 quit for good and all in '98 I like the demo. Charlie
  8. gonzo, Interesting! Is this being used for the UI driving simulator? I contributed some hardware to that in its early stages... Iowa= High technology... We gotta pump jack in the kitchen... but ya still gotta use the outhouse.... Charlie in Iowa
  9. "The Creators of the inspirational and innovative on-line animation school, Animation Master.com...." Uh, didn't you mean "...AnimationMentor.com..." otherwise, very cool.. very glad to see using AM for CNC stuff too! Charlie
  10. smudge... pardon me for the critique.. I am a newb... but in fay's walk cycle... everything seems right from the waist up... but from the hips down... it seems like a lock kneed walk... does that make any sense? everything else looks great... it's just that I noticed the legs... and then had to replay to get a sense for the rest... respectfully, Charlie
  11. agep, I'm really impressed with the McLaren... Where did you get the original model to work on? Or, did you take measurements.. Or did you just "eyeball" it in comparison to a photo? My interest stems from the fact that I have used AM, and it's predecessors for over a decade off and on. I have some CAD work I would like to expand into a decent rendered object attached to a pickup truck... AM is my renderer of choice... the model of the McLaren is a bit too totally detailed for my needs... but as accurate as I would like for the exterior. thanks for your response Charlie
