  1. Hit the triangle next to Fluid emitter to see its props
  2. I think a model window can show particles because hair is particles and you'd have to be able to see it to mess with your model's hair try dragging the time cursor around and back to 0:00, even though models technically don't have "time" Or... just turn Show particles off.
  3. A quick test to see if it is a particle is to turn off Show Particles (Shift 8)
  4. Yay! thanks, Gerry! For those still to come who can't think of what to say, you can talk about any relevant or even remotely related detail. ideas... -how you got the idea -why you wanted to do it -the models you made, if any -what was hard -dont' say anything at all, have a guest commentary from your mom or your five-year old inste -anything that will give the viewer some behind the scenes insight.
  5. Can you show a bit of this? I'm not sure what you mean.
  6. The body is still going back up immediately when the heel hits the ground. That's a fundamental problem that needs to be fixed before any other details can be addressed. Is there a tut out there that is saying to do that?
  7. When you are active in the model window, all a model's poses can be seen under User Properties. Poses only appear in the Pose window when they can be keyed, such as when you are in a chor or making another pose.
  8. I forget the reason his eyes are modeled farther back, but when you drop him in a chor his eyes appear properly. The Pose Rig>Setup>Eye constraints puts them forward and is ON by default once he's dropped in a chor or action.
  9. That's pretty good looking goo. It's like the old Sherwin-Williams Paint logo. How about 1cm, and make the emitter much, much flatter so it isn't shooting in so many direction.
  10. C' mon all you BUS STOP contributors. You can make a commentary track for your segment! I still want them! Load up your clip. Plug in a mic, press play, press record, and tell us about your segment.
  11. 10 years ago people would have killed to be able to do that in A:M! I like the way the pool spreads. There may be a way to get the jitter to stop but I haven't investigate fluids greatly yet. However, 5cm seems large for a fluid particle, that's like 2 inches. I'd try smaller, which may mean more particles are needed. Fluids particles do well for when the fluid is falling and splashing, but are not as well suited to bodies of water that have come to rest. Some slight-of-hand transition to a traditional model might serve better for that.
  12. Will we find out who lives above the store? Looking good!
  13. If A:M is set to 30fps why do we have a 25fps quicktime file?
  14. I rigged a book for a project a few years ago http://www.hash.com/forums/index.php?s=&am...st&p=305376 I'll have to look at it to recall what i was doing. I think I had every page on its own bone and weighted so it would bend as it was turned to the side. And then there was one page that the character actually flipped that needed more bones so it do the more complex motion of being slid and turned I think building the book closed that you will open is easier than building a book open that you will close.
  15. Welcome back! Tell me about that octagonal barrel.
  16. Thing. Everyone animates a hand of their own design poking out of the box, doing something , going back into the box.
  17. Both B and C look about the same on my computer. B seems to have a bit more occasional "tearing" where the top and the bottom dont' line up. i thought that might be because of the mismatch between 25fps and my 60 fps monitor, but C doesn't seem to have the tearing as much as B played on the same monitor. I have both an LCD and a CRT I don't think PCs wait for a screen redraw to start before it displays a new frame of video so that may account for the tearing in images that is visible in horizontally moving objects. The mismatch between 25fps and 60 fps would probably create quite a few split frames. However if I step thru either one frame by frame, the car appears to move the same amount in each frame so at least it's not A:M that is the problem. The gif runs rather slowly on my computer so the stepping from frame to frame is very obvious in that one.
  18. Old Letterman joke: "I hear Donald Trump just paid $2 million for a Fabergé Egg. But I think he really got taken when he paid another million for some Fabergé bacon."
  19. Volumetric is turned on for the light. With volumetric ON and Flare ON the flare will show thru the wall. That may be a bug but I'm not sure. If Volumteric is OFF the flare will not show thru the wall and there won't be a volumetric haze making it look like light is leaking thru the window. If you need a volumetric light to shine thru a window, use a kleig light.
  20. Here's a light with flare passing behind a wall and showing thru the opening. The flare and shadows are correct throughout. FlareTest.mov
  21. here is a light shining on a wall and not passing thru it. How is this not what you are trying to do?
  22. Post a PRJ with the lights placed like you are using for the render you are showing. The chor that is posted at the top doesn't have lights placed other than the defaults.
