  1. How interesting! i have never in my life rotated an object 90° by typing in that number . I've always been using the rotate manipulator and turning it manually which works fine since the angle snap is large enough to hit 90 exactly. When i do it by Rusty's method I do indeed get those crooked splines in both v17 and v 18. Rusty, i suggest you make an AM Report of this (for v18). For now, manually turning the Rotate Manipulator will get you what you want.
  2. On rare occasions the cutplane wizard will make a very odd ring that twists in places. Save that situation and consider submitting it as an AMReport.
  3. The SplitPatch Wizard will add a subdividing spline in both direction on selected patches. If you selected two adjoining rings it would add a new ring between them and you could manually delete the crossing splines that are also added that you don't want.
  4. My first gambit would be to use the Cut Plane wizard which has the option of merely adding a ring rather than severing the object into two parts at the intersection plane. This presumes the two neighboring rings are far enough apart to fit the Plane between them
  5. I almost forgot to vote!
  6. Very clever! I keep forgetting how much drag and drop can do in A:M.
  7. That looks very cool. Merry Christmas!
  8. Instead of "Mirror All Smartskin"? No, I don't think there is a way to mirror several, but not all Smartskins. Here's a crazy idea.... Delete all the ones you don't want to mirror, then do Mirror Aall, then with a text editor, reinsert the ones you didn't want' mirrored from a previous version of the file. I did say it was crazy.
  9. And Merry Christmas to you, Karen!
  10. I'll never understand color space.
  11. I was reviewing this thread and remembered you had that bad accident. Are you back to Rodney-normal now?
  12. Can you point me to an example of what those other people were doing? I can't picture it.
  13. Aside from carefully fitting the eyelid to the eye ball, of course, what I've been typically doing is taking the inner loop of the eyelid and extruding it one more time and scaling that down to a point at the center of the eyeball so it's like a cone coming from the center of the eye. That makes for no visible gap between the eyelid and eye. That works except for extreme close ups which are rare.
  14. What sort of gaps?
  15. What made the sky do that?
  16. I don't know what the status of those is. They've been mentioned before, but I'm not sure who has them or if they are uploaded or what. ----------- I'm the one who's supposed to be farther along on making them than i am. I'm glad you find them useful. Until they are all done I'll note that there are quite a few very informative, if not quite so slick, tutorials by many knowledgeable A:M users in the Tutorials section of the forum. If you are looking for somethign specific, ask, and someone will probably know if there is one already.
  17. I can start a project form scratch and the roll handle will grow as the object moves away from the model bone. Is there a good reason for that to happen?
  18. I just tried dragging a jpg from the Images folder into a modeling window for a rotoscope and it worked OK. Perhaps you have some specific situation that can be duplicated?.
  19. If you can create a sample case that demonstrates this that would be a good thing to report to AMReports. A screencam video that shows it happening is useful in these cases.
  20. You can file an AMReport at Hash.com/reports If you haven't done it before you'll need to get a user name and password set up there. If you are including an example PRJ make sure it has all the models embedded.
  21. This is not a mistake. It is correct practice to plant the model bone once and leave it in place as the character is animated to walk or run or whatever from its initial location. That is odd. It still happens in v18. I suggest you create simple case that demonstrates it and send that with an AMReport
  22. I enjoyed your production! You could call it "Biobot Saves Christmas" There were a few story points that were a bit foggy but i think i got it. I think you've got more animation there than I've done in my whole character animation life. Congratulations on getting the show done!
  23. I think the question mark icons are supposed to indicate that some link in the relationship is broken, like if the named target bone in a constraint is no longer there. But sometimes the question mark icons appear when there is not really a problem.
  24. If you save and reload are they still there? Do the relationships still work?
