Hey! Dig the new avatar Ken! I also add 2 nulls in the model when I am done rigging via TSM2... ONE is a child of the head bone THE OTHER is a child of the root bone. I then make 2 constraint poses to turn on the 'aim at' for each, with each also turning OFF the other. This way you can turn them on easily and animate or constrain them (to the camera, or other nulls or objects) no matter where you are.

IF you already have Photoshop (a recent version) THEN you already have a most powerful gif creator in Photoshop's 'sister' application Adobe ImageReady. You can even do rollover effects/buttons in a gif with ImageReady.
-
I think the gif limit is still 1mb. We 'host' a .swf file off of our our domains, which the forum bot goes out and gets. I have some rollovers in mine... I thought about adding sound, but knew I would be going to far.

As a general rule, If your new to Hash, your first objective will need to be to learn modelling, as most clothes are actually modelled upon the character as opposed to using a cloth simulator. Once you learn modelling real well, most of your questins will answer themselves. The SimCloth feature is quite new, and considered an advanced tool. BEST!

Golden Gate Bridge High Detail model
John Bigboote replied to MMZ_TimeLord's topic in Work In Progress / Sweatbox
Looking GOOD! When I did my Ambassador Bridge (Detroit/Windsor) my patch-count got kinda high so I did the oldest trick in the book...I only modelled HALF of the bridge and put 2 instances of it in the chor...are you doing that? You could prolly get away with only modelling a QUARTER and bringing 4 instances into the chor...hmmm -
Wow---this IS an old thread! I think the Soulcage guys render out to tga's and composite in AfterEffects or similar compositor, I could be wrong though. Have you looked in to using Marcel Bricman's (Zpider) 'Null Shader'??? It helps BIGTIME in renderring an all-white or all-black pass. You can learn more in the 'Material Laboratory' forum:

You could also try 'distortion mode' instead of the traditional methods.

Distortion mode. One the BEST later features to come to A:M. When I was trying to learn Maya I was OVERWHELMED by the mass of modelling tools, each one more complex and outdoing all the others. A:M has a nice minimal array of modelling features...lathe, extrude, some nice wizards...what am I missing? Now, the distortion mode feature actually reminds me of a Maya-esque distortion tool, only MUCH simpler. You can employ it any time, in model, action, pose, or chor...it puts a mesh around your selected CP's, and the mesh is an interface for the underlying geometry...grab some mesh points and push-pull-scale-rotate... it's GREAT! Experiment with it. You will quickly come to depend upon it.

I think so. Turn 'dynamics ON' (Hash V 11 and up) and set the control to 'spring' or 'constraint' and turn the setting down to 15 or lower, thus giving the hair flowing dynamics and natural secondary motion... Good Luck! BTW- I like your Billy Preston quote: "Nothing from nothing leaves nothing, you gotta have something....If you want to be with me!" RIP Billy.

Master, eh? Change that. You don't need to change your animation, you do need to change your group settings. If you are just trying to get splines to render, maybe try the 'render as lines' setting under the group properties, then adjust the lines thickness to taste.

Thats just silly (Godfather) That file is so cool... I'm going to offer to install a TSM2 rig in it for ya!

DreamyPhoto effects on my entry
John Bigboote replied to JTalbotski's topic in Work In Progress / Sweatbox
Hey Jim- Firstly...congratulations on a 'Grand-Slam' winner...that sure looks good at Hash.com You must have a couple of 'Frazetta-inspired-3D' images now huh? Just like the last one, I would sure like to petition you to do a slight camera move on it, whenever you have some spare render time. Secondly- Where would one find this 'DreamyPhoto' filter for Photoshop? I googled it...nothing. HATS OFF! -
"Hey, Pickup Cafe!"... my 2nd dialog test
John Bigboote replied to robcat2075's topic in Work In Progress / Sweatbox
Great stuff Robert. Getting it to look like 'your vision' is like chasing a carrot on a stick... -
Might be a good call for the 'boolean' feature.
-
Are you importing them into Flash and then 'trace-bitmapping' them to vectors? That not only hurts the image, but your file size will increase as well. Flash 8 is vastly improved for compressing and compositing video...are you using 8? If you truly need vectors...Freehand is a good app at conversions.

Persistance. It will take most people, myself included-a good 5 years. You can feel good knowing that in a few more years you will be miles ahead of where you are now and Hash will have improved it's product right alongside you. I started in 2000 with version 8. We are light-years beyond 8.

COOL! Keep going...

WOW! This thread has taken a nasty turn since last I checked. SINCE we are 'Chai-bashing' on stellar animations... anyone else notice the hair in Monster House was overly rigid? Or that Disney's Fantasia multi-planes were over used? Or the line-thickness in Samurai Jack is too thick? I get over-criticized every day on my work, so I like to over-critisize a bit myself now-and-then. For instance, last night a beautiful sunset fell over the western sky. At first, I was stunned by the overwhelming visual overload- but slowly I saw it's flaws... IT'S ANIMATION!!!!!

I need to chime in late...FANTASTIC! It is great to see what this software can do in the right hands. You have inspired us all! Thank-You! And thanks for all the QnA on it...makes for good reading! Now I'm off to gawk at it again.

DIG! I like the motion blur! But- for some reason, when I hear the term 'liger' I think of Napolean Dynamite...

John Bigboote replied to johnl3d's topic in Work In Progress / Sweatbox
COOL! I think I 'feel' your frustration though...I havent got the hang of the plug-in yet either. The formula *should* read: pick path or circle then sweeper change numbers an see PREDICTABLE results... -
