  1. He's going to turn out great! Good work.
  2. Mr MM, I think what Vern is say is that we're all pretty easy going round here. We like talking about 3D and any talk of heavy profound issues tends to make our fingers swell up so we can't type. In other words...take a chill pill man! (that's not to condone drug taking but is a figure of speech, phew!)
  3. IMO the "catch" of that moment in the clip is that he's waiting for the planet to roll back the other way. There's a small clutch at the planet, but I think too "big" a reaction would spoil that. It seems funnier to watch him just sink down knowing he can't do anything about it. Plus there's not alot of time to put in that reaction.
  4. The look on his face as he goes round is pricelss!
  5. By jove, I think that's it! Engrossing even without sound. Just 95% of the short left to do now!
  6. But what is the effect? Sprites or particles?
  7. Who's Matt? Nice work John! Is that done by hand? I hope you get such a big client!
  8. I think that's referring to "thou shalt not make my image etc"....although it's not that clear. It makes you wonder about all those religious statues and paintings though.... (It's not like he's worshiping his creation or anything)
  9. Just making sure you knew. The legs of the model look abit too long. I think the picture orc is hunched over more or something.
  10. Good stuff! And nice lighting too. I notice the eagle is missing some patches.
  11. You *are* working on half the model and flipping it right?
  12. Is the playback quality set to 44100Hz?
  13. Holy Moley! Looks like a cool game....
  14. The title says Update on page 3....but it's page 6 for me! OK, these aren't crits just suggestions. Like John, I miss the hand/finger movement in the planet push. I think he's using his body weight more than his hands to push the planet, so he doesn't need to grip it. In the end, this is so small, I wonder what he would look like if his lower eyebrow also raised. I think it would give an even more childlike excitement. Maybe not. Is it me, or do his eyes move closer together a tiny bit at times?
  15. Looking good! The eagle head is the wrong way round on one of the sides(probably the top one). The colours look abit inconsistent......the green bit is all worn, yet the black and red look new. Of course, it's a wip.... Is the rust a bought material or did you make it? PS It seems a tad bit too stubby. The handles seem too close together.
  16. The head bone will have it's own set of keyframes. You just move the head bone as you did any other one.
  17. Not bad! He could use more snap(reduce the distance between the keyframes) in the actual throw. Also, if you watch a pitcher, he's always looking at the target. The head in your animation looks up in the air above him mid throw. Keep it up.
  18. There were great camera moves in there. Also, was it just me or was there some "well expressed emotional bits" there also....Definite potential in you young padawan.
  19. Zoiks man....are you sure you have enough windows open in that project! Here's the solution: I deleted the chor action under Rebelman. You had constrained his hips to the path. You generally constrain his model bone(director mode) to the path. Also, you had made the path seperately in a new model. You can just draw it within the chor by pressing A. I then constrained his model bone to that new path.
  20. Looks cool. Do you use extrude to quickly make splines....say in the neck area. I think it's a good method.
  21. Light will go through the back of any patches. So, you'll need to give it double thickness if you don't want it going through the hull. Or you could just restrict the falloff of the Kleig to the port-hole. Just turn off Depth of Field in the render options. Also, play around with multipass and motion blur.
  22. You should be getting a shadow of the bulb on the ground there. Also, there's not much volumetrics going on there so try playing with the brightness and contrast values.
  23. Oh yeah, it's in the competition. You should see it sometime after the 4th March. Also, I didn't elliminate it completely. It seemed to have problems in an enclosed space. Anyway....back on topic....
  24. I think there's less light on this side of the house. I brightened the latest in PS and liked it better as you can see the roughness of the walls better. But I like abit of darkness in there.
  25. He looks great! You've a style of your own and I think you've improved on your last character. I'd say the shoes look abit too egg shaped and perfect. Also I agree with the comments above. I love the volumetric spotlight he's in! God I love volumetrics!!!Every light should have one! He seems like a magician on stage.
