  1. That's totally hip! I didn't know you could use a material as a displacement. How long to render?
  2. Very cool. The rivet studs look a little big to my eye.
  3. I prefer the first....unless you can get rid of the jaggies in the second.
  4. Looks good so far.
  5. Man I just love that pair of....gloves! Hair is suitably big and realistic. Nice improvement.
  6. Ahoy there Capin'! The shoulders are looking fine...don't forget about that tut!
  7. Great characters! I don't know if you want crits, but I think the legs spoil the rest of the body. And are those shaggys arms?
  8. Ear better. Also, the fourth spline ring around the eye isn't doing anything(at the moment) that can't be made up by the rings around it. Eyelids curve in at the sides. Select the 2 side points of the eye and nudge them into the head abit. Generally the shape of the head is abit skewed, but you can tweak that when you're happy with the splines and Copy/flip/attach it. What did you do to fill the 5 pointers?
  9. You seem to have the basics right. There are too many splines for my liking. For example round the ear. To keep the mesh smooth a tip might be to delete all but totally un-necessary splines and then add splines by selecting a spline and pressing y. This puts a cp right on the centre line and so encourages smoother surfaces.
  10. It'd sure make a cool splash screen.
  11. Actually I'm not sure it is grey. Vader is evil, so I assume it's jet black. Maybe the grey comes from the environment reflecting off it.
  12. It works as it is. But you wouldn't just open the forward fist. You would need to rotate his wrist up and vary his finger arches. Also the angle of his forearm is wrong for this. Try punching yourself.....that doesn't sound right .....punch the air.
  13. That's cool. No real crits.
  14. It's looking well! I'd like to see it with more higlights on the face. Also a wireframe.
  15. I see you modeled a black cat too!
  16. Oooo! Oooo! I got a crit!!! *Holds it up like the golden ticket* On the image where you're looking up his nose, his nostrils look a little thick at the base. Of course it could be the light/angle/his genetic makeup....but I doubt it!!!
  17. Hey the wheels on the truck don't turn! Still looks great though.

    Kapsules

LOL He looks phyco. I love that "plastercine" look. One suggestion would be to change "skin" colour.
  19. Surreal! But good. On the walk after he meets the ball, you need to change the transition to blend....or replace....or add.
  20. Yep sound logic. It's hard to know these days! Either R and R or OT maybe.
  21. You're not really in the right forum topic section and you're kind of bending the guidelines. But I hope your message stays....somewhere, as you raise a valid point. I've always considered Poser users to be people who haven't heard of AM. Because once they do, they quickly ditch Poser. I guess most of the AM community hangs around here and so don't get time to go there, but you're right in that it would be great advertisement.

    KONG!

I believe Wetas pipline is based around polys....unfortunately. Also, the movie is out within the year, so they most probably had the model well made already.

    KONG!

Heh I know the mechanics of how it was done but I don't know how he could draw all those little lines in one lifetime And so regularly. Edit: OK I see the explanation above now. Thanks!

    KONG!

It's amazing how much a texture can enhance a model! How on earth did you do all those little subtle cracks?.....particularly on the chest.
  25. This is pure genius. No wonder you are so successfull. You have both superb artistic, acting and storytelling skills and brilliant ingenuity. I'm glad someone understands it!
