Nice polish, Mark... Yeah, keep pushing.
  2. There's no reason in the world to use After Effects. Plus, if you spend $1500 on AE then complain to me about A:M being "incompatible," I REALLY blow a fuse. Use the compositing features in A:M, they were written before AE even existed, and were better than AE for many years. And for short pieces, use the NLE built-in to A:M. A:M is your all-in-one solution - that's our market niche - help us stay in business by showing the world that any 7th grader can make their own little movie all in A:M.
  3. SO puts all scenes from the same set into one Chor then switches the Camera's position with constraints. Use "active" to turn unneeded models on and off, and use a lightrig with a Lightlist constrained to the Camera to make sure the characters are always lit, (you can also use "active" to get rid of lights you don't want). TWO had a separate scene for every Camera position... 1005! We couldn't just change something in the set (or in the lights) without doing the same thing is a dozen Chors, plus we couldn't keep the lighting consistent, nor maintain continuity - it was a nightmare.
  4. Try posting here now.
  5. Katt, if you can have it done by San Diego Comicon next year, I'll represent it, (in my capacity as an "Entertainment Lawyer"). We'll have TWO & SO there also, (and probably my first movie, "Telepresence"). Maybe we'll have some more A:M movies from other people by that time too? I've never actually been able to sell a movie for what it cost me to make it but at some point there's critical mass, luck, momentum, whatever?
  6. That made ME want to make a sphere!
  7. That was a good crit, Bruce: easy-to-do suggestions and lots of encouragement.
  8. Looks great! Baby steps on all the additional refinements. I agree that you should push on to the next shot. The important thing is that you're moving, the story is flowing, and you're maintaining your enthusiasm so that you may return to this shot in the future should you desire. I can't wait to see what you do next!
  9. Yeah, that did it. (You can gamma correct using A:M's Post Effects too - you don't have to re-render.) Find a gamma that you like.
  10. That looks very interesting. I like the images. I hope you have several pictures for every story segment you reveal in this thread. I anticipate the story very much. (I'm looking at the images on my laptop with the brightness turned all the way up but your images still look very dark. Try to gamma correct one of them to make the background brighter, and post it into this thread so that I can see if that helps.)
  11. Katt, you might want to run a blog in the "Special Topics" area here on the forum. I'm sure other people would like to follow your movie-making experience.
  12. I've seen Episode One before but Episode Three is new! I'm interested in the story and I think the pacing is fine. Be proud - it's great. More, please. You might consider carrying a "Special Topic" in the A:M Forum around this production rather than a separate blog on your own site.
  13. Try a Volumetric Effect. Use a Rectangular shape (Sun), and pull the corners of the bounding volume where you want the low-lying mist to be. Mark (mtpeak2) Skodacek did some GREAT eerie mist for Yoop's Castle in TWO - ask him.
  14. Here's a smattering of some of the images that have been rendering from WebRender on my computer. Please use your computer's spare time to render for the Hash Community movie, "Tin Woodman of Oz" (TWO), also. The WebRender installation takes only 5 minutes (and it's free). http://wiki.hash.com/index.php/WebRender Another movie, "Scarecrow of Oz" (SO), is in preproduction with a crew of 40. If you would like to be involved, simply contact me "martin@hash.com"
  15. That's an incredibly clever and cute card. Thank you for posting it - such a terrific start for 2008!
  16. A:M will do that. on "Images" in the PWS and pick the first frame of the sequence of TGAs, then on the newly loaded sequence in the PWS and pick "Save Animation As". Click on the "..." and click "Save as type" to pick ".png" then click "ok".
  17. Bully for you. I look forward to seeing more.
  18. Smile. (And your film looks good too!)
  19. Yikers! I'm afraid already! What, Vern, have you set loose on the world?! Oh, the humanity.
  20. Don't they let you use laptops in the mission field? I'll send you one.
