Unfortunately, another "stay alive" post. I'm still working on a bunch of different things with hair, but nothing worth showing yet.

I've been doing a bunch of hair experiments over the past couple of weeks...I think I might be able to get what I'm after. In the course of my experiments, I was happy to discover that Colin Freeman's "Hairbrush" (http://www.colins-loft.net/hairbrush.html) works in the latest Paint Shop Pro (https://www.paintshoppro.com/en/products/paintshop-pro/). After messing with the trial version, I'm pretty happy with some of the tools in Paint Shop Pro...I used to use it a lot years ago and it's gotten quite a bit better (it can handle 16bit images for one thing). I may have to get a license for Paint Shop Pro now and add it to GIMP and Krita in my list of tools.

It looks like some kind of rendering anomaly...the closer to the character I render, the problem disappears.

Here is a shot of the spline layout...I'll probably have to re-route them or do some more tweaking to make it work right. I don't know what clothes she will be wearing yet, so that may get covered up.

I posted the start of Bertram's neighbor here: https://www.hash.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=48339&p=414122

I started working on Bertram's neighbor. I did some remodeling of Squetchy Sam for the body and remodeled Bertram's hands and head to get to this point. The four marks on her upper back are from hooks that aren't behaving themselves with the SSS turned on. The eyelashes are a cookie-cut map on geometry and the eyebrows are particle hair...no texturing yet. Still a lot to do.

A:M Bench 2017 – Benchmark for Hash Animation:Master
itsjustme replied to Fuchur's topic in Animation:Master
I appreciate what you're doing, Gerald! It's helping me decide if I want to use a Ryzen processor in my next build...I'm debating setting up a dedicated renderer.- 42 replies

I just posted an updated walk cycle here: https://www.hash.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=48223&p=413719

Okay, finally getting back to this. I ended up making Ham's feet smaller and the lighting is different (not necessarily better, just different and took less time to render). I think it's a big improvement. Ham_walk_07_29_2017.mp4
