  1. thats a nicely modaled skull! i like the details in the upper jaw -, just after the teeth
  2. mmm crunchy chitin! my frog is salivating! great detail in that modal; thanks! Nixie
  3. thats teasing! need to see wires; especially of the legs! Nixie
  4. thanks, that was one of the first things I laid down, I like it because it gives you that tight fold that u get in real life; but the spline now curles round into the nostril which saved a bit of mess i was having. I will try to get more done then post with something more substantial. But if anyone can see any major problems with the splinage then please let me know! Nixie
  5. Thankyou Mr Talbot, that means an awful lot coming from you! as you asked, here is a 3/4 ish view; notice the rather large 5 pointers to the side where I didnt know what else to do with the splinage. And was I right to modal the imperfections like his wonky nose? Nixie
  6. ...and heres a shaded wire
  7. Hello smiley hashy people, I have just started a new wip of my friends head; I say friend but if he sees what im doing to him he might not be anymore! He's probably not the easyest subject as he has a broken nose, and i took the pictures after an evening of boozing so the rotos arent perfect but theyl do! I was aiming to get the concentric ring thing implemented, but im not sure its done quite right. heres a rendered image
  8. cool, i really like how it's changed from the begging, small changes that over time, have made an important difference. i think maybe a little bumpier might add a touch more realism; perhaps a render lit a little dramatically to show of the features? why blue eyes?!! regards -- Nixie
  9. Yes, genius! Sir Nigel needs one of those very British, aristocratic 'one raised eyebrow' ! we all do it over here! youl see all the guys in George Hurrell's work doing it! awsome as I have already said! well done Jim
  10. WOW! now I know what a diffuse map is! Thankyou to you and your cuckoo ->Nixie
  11. cool, quite expressive!, love the hand movements! your modal seems well rigged, well done Nixie
  12. That is an awesome image! no other comments needed, you got the bump down to a tee
  13. what do you think? it looks a little dark I feel but it does let the robo stand out more,
  14. Nice, Very Nice! Its a very nice choice of colour too
  15. I would concur, I've been trying my hand (and failing) at animation recently, and you make it look easy! 4 hours is pretty impressive my friend!
  16. yeah you need to do a bump and specularity tute! I understand bump mapping, but have never really used it effectively. And specularity, I can see the need for it but I dont use it because im scared! Oh and if you ever feel super generous, with a little time to spare, a 'speedy head'modaling tute would be cool (if asking a little too much! awesome - want to see more! Nixie
  17. That explains alot! nice concept, cant wait to see it finished, keep us informed Regards - Nixie
  18. This looks great! but I personaly would change the sky image, it looks like a photoshop "render clouds" filter. other than that though, nice colors, textures and overall great feel! Nixie
  19. You have certainly captured the essence of dog and master! I love the way the little chappy follows after his master; I can imagine him sulking and pineing in the frames that would follow! Chris
  20. Geez louise and holy smokes! *how* do you do it! - what do you have planned for him and his comrades which you mention? superb as always
  21. oh and heres a mutipass - He wasnt too happy in the cage so he kicked the door down! Is there a way of getting render as lines to render shaded? Thanks hash crew!
  22. just thought I'd update with a little pic, I could really do with some help on rigging and lighting. Anyone know of some useful tutorials on rigging from scratch? ( whats the difference between FK & IK) also good lighting tutes would be much apriciated. - I tried the skylight tute on Yves'site but just got confused! so anyway heres the scene so far!
  23. puts me in mind of ubi softs kinda stuff, great modal, looking forward to more!
  24. Totally awesome! the whole thing is really very good, but why do the duckies stop squeaking so abrubptly? it might be better if they faded out just slightly (I know it's probably a little late now) but some very impressive camerawork too and the flash fade was nicely timed - well done that man!
  25. love the skin textures on your creature, keep updating, it's nice to see something a bit dark and mysterious. Hows the ship coming along I can see that looking great wrecked at the bottom of a murky ocean. regards - Chris
