Xtaz Posted November 6, 2012 Posted November 6, 2012 brief question ...Does material effect work with particles ??? Quote
Fuchur Posted November 6, 2012 Posted November 6, 2012 brief question ...Does material effect work with particles ??? I'd say no, since particles are (till now) no 3d-objects in A:M. But nevertheless: Try it out! See you *Fuchur* Quote
Xtaz Posted November 6, 2012 Author Posted November 6, 2012 Thanks Fuchur for your reply ... indeed I want to know if I can use a material effect that create particles in the object instead a color/bump....... Am I clear ??? It seems not work here... Quote
Hash Fellow robcat2075 Posted November 6, 2012 Hash Fellow Posted November 6, 2012 I recall a demo long ago of Material effectors where they did the Star Trek "Genesis Effect" and that involved particles, I think. Quote

Fuchur Posted November 7, 2012 Posted November 7, 2012 You could of course use geometry inside your object to emit particles. Or you could use a Surface-Constraint to assign an emitter (close to not visible: Transparency of 99.9% emitter) to the surface. See you *Fuchur* Quote
Admin Rodney Posted November 7, 2012 Admin Posted November 7, 2012 More info is needed Marcos. I'm sure we can come up with something that will work... and if not particles who knows... maybe it'll work even better. What is the effect you are trying to reproduce? Quote
Hash Fellow robcat2075 Posted November 8, 2012 Hash Fellow Posted November 8, 2012 I recall Paul Forwood doing something like that with a character and I regret that we can not ask him more about it. Quote
Hash Fellow robcat2075 Posted November 8, 2012 Hash Fellow Posted November 8, 2012 I just tried a boolean cutter but that doesn't affect particles either. Quote
Hash Fellow robcat2075 Posted November 8, 2012 Hash Fellow Posted November 8, 2012 New theory... perhaps with Newton Physics the model could be fractured into many parts and a force moved through the scene to blow them around. Quote

Hash Fellow robcat2075 Posted November 8, 2012 Hash Fellow Posted November 8, 2012 Too bad you can't control particle emissions with a bitmap like you can on hair. Quote
Xtaz Posted November 8, 2012 Author Posted November 8, 2012 Here is my attempt with using particles ... particles.mov Quote
Hash Fellow robcat2075 Posted November 8, 2012 Hash Fellow Posted November 8, 2012 Are those particles or Newtons? Quote
Admin Rodney Posted November 8, 2012 Admin Posted November 8, 2012 How in the heck??? I assume you are animating the solid block's scale or size while simultaneously overlaying the sprite particle effect? Very impressive Marcos! Quote
johnl3d Posted November 9, 2012 Posted November 9, 2012 Rodney I was thinking the same way Posted my attempt in Tinkering Gnome Quote
Xtaz Posted November 9, 2012 Author Posted November 9, 2012 Thanks Rodney .... First I rendered a cube rotating ( PNG sequence / Alpha on ) Then I use it as reference for sprites material ( Repeat image sequence ON ) tomorrow I'll record a video showing how to setup it. Here is a new shot with colors. particles_explosion.mov Quote
Admin Rodney Posted November 9, 2012 Admin Posted November 9, 2012 Oh, that's good Macros. You are making great progress! Quote
Kamikaze Posted November 9, 2012 Posted November 9, 2012 That's beautifully amazing..must be the new settings in the sprite sys. Great Job Quote
Hash Fellow robcat2075 Posted November 10, 2012 Hash Fellow Posted November 10, 2012 Very cool, marcos! Quote
Xtaz Posted November 13, 2012 Author Posted November 13, 2012 New setup to particle emitter. I'm finishing a brief tutorial. butterfly.mov Quote
Admin Rodney Posted November 13, 2012 Admin Posted November 13, 2012 Now that is impressive. Looking forward to your tutorial! Quote
