cfree68f Posted June 2, 2007 Posted June 2, 2007 looking good.. go man go. I want to see hazy fog and moody blood stained skies though. More like Frazetta maybe? Love the terrain. C Quote
elliotclem1 Posted June 2, 2007 Posted June 2, 2007 Wow coming along nicley. Do you work for Tar or is this just Fan art. It is brilliant what you can do with this program. Quote
youngman Posted June 2, 2007 Posted June 2, 2007 Awsome stuff Will,This is going to be very hard to beat!! Jay Quote
zandoriastudios Posted June 2, 2007 Author Posted June 2, 2007 ...Do you work for Tar or is this just Fan art... LOL. Tar works for me! He is a character that I created quite a few years ago...So it really is a "lost world" of mine. But Now I'm coming back to this project, and hope to complete it using A:M Quote
zandoriastudios Posted June 2, 2007 Author Posted June 2, 2007 Did some work on the sky, and altered the composition.... TAR is multi-colored, because of the groups I've assigned for decalling. Quote
Hash Fellow robcat2075 Posted June 3, 2007 Hash Fellow Posted June 3, 2007 Hey that graphic novel treatment looks great! I can see that being a lost segment of "Heavy Metal" Does Tar still have the tutu he wore in Fantasia? Quote
zandoriastudios Posted June 4, 2007 Author Posted June 4, 2007 Whew! tedious afternoon of decaling. Now I get to have some fun in AM:Paint! Quote
3DArtZ Posted June 4, 2007 Posted June 4, 2007 Wow, looks like youve got everything "mapped out" Cant wait to see what you do! Mike Fitz www.3dartz.com Quote
zandoriastudios Posted June 8, 2007 Author Posted June 8, 2007 Started painting the skin. I'm going to use some bitmap plus materials on the equipment, so just colored groups for now. Quote
MMZ_TimeLord Posted June 8, 2007 Posted June 8, 2007 Very nice Will... keep us posted! (I wanna grow up to paint skin like William Sutton! ) Quote
elliotclem1 Posted June 9, 2007 Posted June 9, 2007 Thats amazing!!!!! How do you map things out on A:M paint as I am having trouble doing that. Elliot Quote
zandoriastudios Posted June 14, 2007 Author Posted June 14, 2007 Here is a bit more on the texturing... Elliot: I move back and forth between 3DPainter and Photoshop: 1.Enter projection paint, and pick up the surface color>export the projection canvas>then reject Projection paint. 2. Now open the projection canvas in Photoshop>paint>save. 3. Return to 3DPainter, switch to the bitmap tool>load bitmap (choose the same file you exported [the projection canvas]. 4. Click in the viewport to drop the bitmap>right-click, choose fit to view>then right-click, Apply. 5. Save modified textures. Quote
mfortunato Posted June 15, 2007 Posted June 15, 2007 William - This is just amazing. Your skills with AM, Paint and PShop are astounding. I cannot wait to see this scene completed. Excellent work. I think I need to go to your website and get some training videos . - Michael Quote
zandoriastudios Posted June 15, 2007 Author Posted June 15, 2007 Thanks for the compliments, Michael! It helps motivate me to keep going Quote

Vong Posted June 17, 2007 Posted June 17, 2007 Will already knows how I feel about his work on TAR... But it's gotta be said again.... Outstanding work!!!! So, when are we getting the animated feature film about TAR? Quote
zandoriastudios Posted June 25, 2007 Author Posted June 25, 2007 Well--I'm laying the groundwork for a feature. polishing the script... But now I need to buy some mocap equipment, so I took on some freelance work--so I don't know if I will be able to work on this contest entry until after the deadline is long gone.... I will try to squeeze it in. Quote
aen916 Posted June 26, 2007 Posted June 26, 2007 Tar looks great, but I can't help ask, why do animated hippos like to wear thongs? (see also Kozo - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZSmegm4Gn4s...ted&search= ) Quote
zandoriastudios Posted June 26, 2007 Author Posted June 26, 2007 LOL--thats pretty funny! Kozo seems to be wearing a sumo wrestler costume. Tar is wearing a loincloth so that he can be in a PG-13 movie (He used to just walk around nekkid).... Quote
