Emilio Le Roux Posted August 5, 2006 Posted August 5, 2006 I've been putting together some advanced tips and techniques in some kind of manual for myself. I decided to share it. I named the document 'Models for Games' because it also includes specific information about getting your models into a game engine. However, I think the modeling and texturing tips described there may prove useful in any situation. modelsforgames.pdf Quote

martin Posted August 6, 2006 Posted August 6, 2006 Emilio, I think this deserves some special attention. Bob was already looking at your "5-point texture export" problem before he went to SIGGRAPH, but I'll make sure it stays on his list. Quote
Kamikaze Posted August 6, 2006 Posted August 6, 2006 Yes, thank you Emilo.....great work, ahd it sure looks like work.... Mike Quote

heyvern Posted August 8, 2006 Posted August 8, 2006 Coool! Here's a tip... You can set a decal to BE A ROTOSCOPE. For that part on posing and decaling with photos. I do this all the time. The decal is a rotoscope and acts just like one as you model or pose to match. When done you eliminate the extra step of matching the decal to the rotoscope. [edit] oops! The decal as rotoscope doesn't show in bones mode in an action... nevermind! -vern Quote
Emilio Le Roux Posted August 8, 2006 Author Posted August 8, 2006 Nice work Emilio. Thanks for such an excellent contribution! You're welcome! I failed to get into the TWO game, but at least I hope I can help a little with this. oops! The decal as rotoscope doesn't show in bones mode in an action... nevermind! -vern Yeah, that, and the fact it can't be transparent nor locked. I used to use decal-rotoscopes but I ended up misplacing them all the time accidentally, which can't be undone. But anyway, they are there... Quote
Dhar Posted August 20, 2006 Posted August 20, 2006 This is an excellent tutorial. Nice job Emilio. A layman such as myself was able to understand it, which speaks volumes about your tutoring abilities. Has it been added to the A:M tutorials? Maybe it's a good idea to post the link here? Quote
Admin Rodney Posted August 20, 2006 Admin Posted August 20, 2006 Dhar, Emilio has us in a holding pattern pending additional updates. He said: let me finish a couple sections first. Then we put it on A:M Tutes. Thanks! So it's not linked in the Tutorials forum yet. We can link to here in the short term though to help keep the spotlight on this little gem. Rodney Quote
