Ilidrake Posted July 5, 2006 Posted July 5, 2006 He looks great! 3ds huh? I've played warhammer and you've definitly got the look down, although he is a bit thick. Good luck with it. Quote
case Posted July 6, 2006 Author Posted July 6, 2006 thanks i have been looking at it i thought so too i would like someone to tell me were they think its thick at Quote
dude Posted July 6, 2006 Posted July 6, 2006 here is the space marinei made it 3ds max so you modeled the space marine in 3d max? why didnt you just model him in animation master? Quote
Viper GTX2.0 Posted July 6, 2006 Posted July 6, 2006 Hey speaking of 3D max i got somthing to ask. Is 3D max compatible with AM to export and import models? Quote
case Posted July 6, 2006 Author Posted July 6, 2006 no the spline to poly conversion no no no no polygon to spline yes so its very iffy 3ds max is complicated Quote
Viper GTX2.0 Posted July 7, 2006 Posted July 7, 2006 no the spline to poly conversion no no no no polygon to spline yes so its very iffy 3ds max is complicated It must be i exported the model from AM as a 3D studio format and then in 3D max i imported the model from 3D studio format to AM format but it turn out not too great. realy bad. Quote
the_black_mage Posted July 7, 2006 Posted July 7, 2006 well you need to get newer export plugins...and its best to export as in .obj thats what i do. Quote
Viper GTX2.0 Posted July 7, 2006 Posted July 7, 2006 were can i get that plugin and is it free? I exported it as a opj. but i took the picture in cho. mode. Quote
the_black_mage Posted July 7, 2006 Posted July 7, 2006 oh thats why... you see sometime a prop won't import properly. egt something like blender or gmax to import it in. Quote
c-wheeler Posted July 7, 2006 Posted July 7, 2006 Check tis out by David Higgins - he also did the game illustration in the AM handbook Space Marine Quote
case Posted July 8, 2006 Author Posted July 8, 2006 yeah i like that picture myself i am working on the ork now its hard Quote
always_a_kid Posted July 8, 2006 Posted July 8, 2006 The model looks great. My brother was...is a big warhammer fan even though there is nobody around to play it. It looks great. Keep it up. Quote
case Posted July 10, 2006 Author Posted July 10, 2006 ok my new release picture will be coming very soon the speeder bikefrom the vehicacals the human side Quote
trajcedrv Posted July 10, 2006 Posted July 10, 2006 case, things that you have made look cool so far, but there is quite a lot of things about them that shout 'imported to A:M'... They will be darn hard to animate when time comes to that, and you will get a bunch of ugly artefacts when rendering... Maybe you should try to get to base one and remodel them in A:M from scratch: modeling them in A:M is actually much faster then modeling them elsewhere, importing and then trying to iron out all of the artefacts... just my two cents... Drvarceto Quote
case Posted July 10, 2006 Author Posted July 10, 2006 yes i know i make them in 3ds max then import them into am i like 3ds max for things like that im sorry for not saying that clear but anyway yeah you are right about the impoting anyway i will keep you posted Quote
bentothemax Posted July 11, 2006 Posted July 11, 2006 Oo...Nice! Those models look great, but i am afraid i agree with trajcedrv, that you ARE (i can pretty much guarentee it) have alot of problems animating. If you are going to animate with AM, it would be very helpful to model with it aswell. It is an outstanding modeling tool, even if it is made for character animation... it can do ALOT of things. case Posted July 12, 2006 Author Posted July 12, 2006 all of you thank you for having commments on my models and yes animation will be hard but i have to get this movie made nomadewr what problems run into my face ill make it through my face but to tell myself i can do it...thanks to all of you that talked me through mage i have learned a lesson from you not to start something that i wont and nknow i wont finish well thanks evryone Quote
Ilidrake Posted July 12, 2006 Posted July 12, 2006 Well, there is one solution that comes to mind. Render the models in Max from various angles, front, side, back. Instant rotoscopes that you can use in AM. Good luck with your movie. Quote
case Posted July 14, 2006 Author Posted July 14, 2006 hmmm never thought of it that way but it may true enough put to say the least Quote
gre03 Posted July 15, 2006 Posted July 15, 2006 Very nice work so far. I did a quick scene a while back using some guys models (space marines and speeder) but yours is looking way better than mine Good luck with animating these guys. Quote
