  1. why not do it the opposite way and import the images from work as layers and render them with the t-rex in A:M. Right now you can definately tell he's pasted in there.
  2. That one looks like it could do some damge Zaryin, what ever happened to your zorroesque model Ive been waiting to see more from him?
  3. Heya, this question always seems to come up from new users so maybe it should be front and center. Because of the copyright protection Animation Master uses it is neccessary to have the cd in the drive to start the program. After it loads you can remove the cd and spline away.
  4. Thanks Dale, I wonder if you put lag on those bones if some of that secondary motion would be automatic?
  5. Good job. Thats exactly the belly bounce Ive been looking for, for one of my characters. If you don't mind could you give a quick run through of how you set it up please?

    KONG!

That did the trick Will, Now you can really make him out, great Job. I don't know if you keep track of such things but what was estimated total time from concept to finished on him?
  7. Proof of the old adage "No glove...no love" Awesome stuff Wegg.
  8. I have to agree with itsjustme, the char has a real floaty feel in the walk. I don't think its from the lack of shadows there doesn't appear to be any up and down to the walk from the angle you rendered. Also, I don't know where the washroom is but for a guys facility it seems way to clean
  9. I believe the purpose of not allowing copyrights on the image contest entries is to keep things anonymous. Posting for critiques before the vote kind of defeats this.
  10. scroll down there's settings for different types of glass. Yours is looking much better by the way.
  11. I didn't connect the inside of my bottle or shotglass to the outside and it seemed to work ok. 1 less step to do
  12. Very good start, glass is a bugger to get right let me tell ya. Other than what has already been mentioned I think I'd scale up the inner section just about at the top, to my eye there seems to be too much of a gap there. Did you extrude the outer shell then bring it in to form the inner layer? If you did try this instead, save a copy of the model the way you have it now. then delete that inner layer. Next copy/paste the outer layer and rescale this copy so its just inside the other layer.I found this helped to give it the thickness I wanted and was easier to control. EDIT: Thought I'd post this link for you some very good advice from some knowledgable people on how to set the refraction and materials http://www.hash.com/forums/index.php?showt...%20daniels&st=0 and hey the image didnt turn out half bad either
  13. Hi I'm pengy and I'm a spline-a hol....er what... ah wait, srry this aint the right thread
  14. Haven't tried it yet but from the buzz this is sure to save me time.
  15. Pia this is going to be very slick when you get it finished. I like the no roll myself. Just thinking out loud here but what if you had some of the tvs coming out of the tower like it was broadcasting?
  16. http://www.hash.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=9878 this one is still new but I thought I'd post it incase Rodney didn't
  17. Gaijin: Well spoken, all though I tend not to agree with you. I think like anything else a person would want to conquer it takes practice. While a large library of models would be great for those that only wanted to animate. I think when the time comes to tell your own story being able to create your own characters will go along way to get you there. How much time have you really given to learning how to do it? All the tutorials you'll need to get you going are out there. Once you've mastered these then you adapt, change, over come any obstacles to get your story told. In my opinion alot of people leave 3d because there is no "make dragon" button or "make animation" button. I'm by no means an expert but let me tell you I sure am enjoying the learning process. From concept to modeling, texturing and animating the characters will be from my idea and by george I'll get there some day. Just my 2 cents do with them what you will.
  18. Good job on the lighting, modeling and texturing. Not really much animating there to comment on. I also thing you could have cut it by half and still had the same effect. Unless this is part of a larger story I don't think it needs to be so long. I kept waiting for something to happen.
  19. Awesome job. The string of pearls with the sleazy outfit is a great touch. I take it she's not a ballet dancer?
  20. the head will definately not fit into the shell...what? Its a mechanical turtle, put your imagination to it...the shell raises by hydraulics... the head retracts..badda boom badda bing
  21. 1 other nitpicky point would be when he turns his head to say "didn't think so" the eyes should lead the movement not vice versa.
  22. probably already been considered but it would be wise to make sure mentor and apprentice have the same version.
  23. I have to say I think this is an excellent idea! Take a look at some of the schools offering animation courses and how much they charge. Look at how much the tutorial videos cost. I think the days of being able to apprentice at a studio are long gone. Of course the mentors are going to get help with their projects..more power to them I say..the apprentice is getting offered a hands on education, plus being able to say I worked on that project. So, I would like to offer any help to Ob he might need in getting this going.
  24. http://www.freetoon.com/prestonblair/01-ch.../pages/046.html here's a few pics from the Preston Blair book to maybe give you some ideas. Some great stuff on the site on char development as well.
  25. Excellent job. Ken i thought the same thing, I think it is the way they bend I don't think its quite natural.
