Just A Small Little Fun With Cloth...
Kamikaze replied to Fuchur's topic in Work In Progress / Sweatbox
Thanks, I love clothsims..............what version of A:M are you using? -
Well, it's not exactly what I wanted..wanted to do more and refine it...but I was short on time, late start and having to reacquaint myself with A:M I had to go a simpler route...I like it for what it is, simple and I thank you guys for starting this project up! got some good practice in....
-
Where do the files need to be sent to? I missed that somehow.. Also ...I have a very short entry and it's over 2 gb zipped.....!! I know you mentioned leaving time 2 sec. for transitional animation but that will not be possible for me. Mike C

Im at 61% now ..... good thing this project required images left & right for the stereo 3d effect ...I usually go straight to avi .... images from now on except for tests and help in adding sound .....

Wow John.... you always amaze me with your tinkering ...... such a fun way to learn by examining your included prj. Thanks, Mike C -
Yes ! keep er up ! .... liking it Mike C

Robcat, These are a really BIG help to me trying to get back into A:M , animating humans and the such, not very good at it but this gets the ball rolling .....so a Big THANKS. MIke C

Well back from vacation..I had my project rendering when away but power failure for 12 hrs due to storms...so Im back to rendering and Im at 35% averaging 5 to 12 min per frame .... I think I should have time to finish it up Mike C

Thanks again for the advice.....one never knows what one my miss ...... But I am pretty sure Ive straightened it out this time ...I have 2 instances of my C 130 model in there so I made sure Both were not active at the same time , took some rearranging....(each C 130 has 4 separate emitters one for each eng.) ... and after several renders thru the night all rendered fine .... one more test before bed time and if it goes well I'll start the full render and let it go till I get back in a week from vacation......cross yer finger and toes! Oh and I gave up on the baking....and made sure AFAIK that nothing was left behind after unbaking...
-
Well I checked again and even when I deleted the sprites sys from the C-130 model it still only renders the flowers on the very first frame ......this is so crazy I have to laugh....... unless it was a one time thing ....but Ill have to triple check .... when I turned the sprites to non active on the aircraft the flowers rendered correctly, but when I delete them its back to 1st frame OK, rest not OK.
-
Thanks for the offers of help .... I kinda wanted to see if I could figure it out ....I think I have , when I shut down the particles to my C-130 aircraft(s) in the Chor. then the flowers render fine..... also think that is what is causing the long render times ..... I noticed the emitters were set WAY to high .... so I'll crank em down and see what happens ... worse come to worse ..Ill render with the sprites off on the aircraft ..... Off to bed now..... Mike C
-
Oh Well, it started out fine on the 1st frame and the second frame went back to its old shenanigans .. I doubt what Ive got would fit well with what others are doing ..so it won't be a great loss .......
-
Thats cool ..love the cigar box guitar ...building a couple myself.. Mike C
-
Robcat..thanks for the offer to take a look ...Ive experimented a bit more and found out that with multipass on the particle dont work as they should ..things look OK if I just set things to Final .......... will it be OK to do it with no multipass?
-
Well Im having all sorts of troubles with the particle/sprite/hair system ..... seems a lot of it happened when I first tried baking ....so I went and set things back to where it was before and unbaked but now all things using hair system are odd ... colors off of just not working, for instance the flowers next to the buildings , use to render just fine now they wont, very frustrated ..... and running out of time ..... will be out of town next week (vacation with the wife and no puters allowed)
-
I love this thread..... and Johnl3d=TG, that was a cool looking mat effect .........
-
I think your suppose to render out a small avi with the sound included then send them the rendered frames and a wav or maybe an mp3 file of the audio...Ok lets see just how bad my memory is.........
-
First thing I did when I got the RW Chor was load it and save the project file , and the files after baking where where the prj. file was save but the pai and par files were there and AM was saying they could not be found...that is, some of them.... the ones AM could not find had no size, containing no information I guess so AM reported them as missing ..thats all I can come up with..... Mike C
-
I baked my particles and it didn't set my group prop. to on and when I reloaded the project later AM claimed files were missing....the files were where they were suppose to be but their sizes were 0mb .... I may just have to let this project render out while Im on vacation for a week and hope it all renders out ..... Mike C

I have sprite smoke and hair sys , just noticed the other day that those have a property for bake particle and when turned on they go through a process of baking too....so not sure why the Chor has one, unless it also has to be run after you turn on the individual bake particles ....1hr 30 is an awful long time,, If I render a number of frames and stop and then later restart where I left off ...will that effect how the particle sys look in final composite ..... Mike C
-
Im doing just a single frame in stereo to check the particle render with your included pres..... I still have some more work to do from the tests so far I had my first blue screen crash under windows that Ive had in nearly a decade .. while working with particle baking ...... I had to laugh ... brung back bad old memories..... I guess I need to see if there is a help file or tutorial when it comes to baking particles. the tech Ref has nothing .....
-
Looks like it will take 1 hr 30 min plus per frame to render ..... its a short skit ,about 1700 frames ... Im now hoping that the bake particles is to make sure particles blend together if one has to stop renders and restart at last frame, I will need to split up the rendering I wont be able to do it on one render. Mike C test render one frame, Oops ! at 85 % Box saying "encountered an improper argument" !
-
Not sure what the step render is.......and its settings Well after doing all that waiting on baking particles ..... when I render it still shows computing dynamics .... I thought the purpose or one of them was that all the particle processing would be done....unless Im not doing something correct, which is always possible .. if render Parti. hair is not selected it doesnt render.. Humm Mike
-
Will make a test .....not sure what the stereo question was....my memory = bad
-
Ok now that I have particles baked .....what do I do from here ...I am ready to render ..I think ....do I need draw particles on in render even tho I have baked? does the render automatically know I have backed them and knows where to find the file made when baking? Thanks, Mike C
