Thanks for your comments What I actually do is that I assemble the parts in an action. I create an action using the main part, then I import the rest of the models into the action (creating "action objects"). Then when I'm in the chor I simply drag the main part into it (lets say its the hull) and then I drag the actionfile onto. By doing that I have full control of the model in the chor only by translating the main part. Hope that make any sense I think I posted a wireframe earlier in this thread, but I can (if I remember) add a wireframe at the next update. Thanks again for your comments Best regards Stian

Thanks again for your comments unfortunately the core timecontroller got broken on my wristwatch timemachine when I spilt some pepsi max on it, so I cant use it Its time for an new update. Great clip David. Im very impressed on how you manage to animate cars! Kudos

I peak both the sides and then I set the gamma to 45 (-45) and the magnitude to 360 [attachmentid=18045]

Thanks guys fast? I thought this went pretty slow... lol method? hmm, I dont think I use any special kind of method exept I bevel a lot, LOL. That is because I havent built any decks there yet (as mention I barly halfdone with the modelling), but I built the guns first an placed them out, so thats why they floats at the moment Stian

Not do I just have to texture it all.... man, thats going to be time-consuming... lol... I'm just barely half-finished with the modelling..

Thanks:) Im not sure I understand... do you mean wath scale on A:M rulers I'm using or level of detail? Anyway, yet another update.. added two hangars and 8 lifeboats beside the chimney. frontpage is updated Best regards Stian [attachmentid=17996] [attachmentid=17997] [attachmentid=17998] [attachmentid=17999]

Thanks guys I think its mainly going to be used for stills Beautiful model so far but I think it's counterproductive (from a realism standpoint) to use oversized rivet models on such large centers I think your right about the size, I'll check it out. Here is the latest update, I'm finished with the bridge. Next up is the chimney and the area around it. the frontpage is updated Best regards Stian [attachmentid=17901] [attachmentid=17902] Oh, and here is one High Res render (2048x1024) to inspect [attachmentid=17906]

Hi guys Here is yet another update I've also added an shaded/wire render showing some of the ship. I know I can remove some splines here and there but thats not the priority at this stage. frontpage is updated Best regards Stian ohh, and just to mention.... its up to 86K... Thanks again for your comments, they are very encouraging while I'm working on this model I was away this weekend, so I have not been able to do much on it, but some I have. I've been working on the bridge mainly, and I have added some rivets to the main cannons. I do see some render artifacts on the topview render, not sure why though. The frontpage is updated. Thanks for your comments they are enclosed with some kind of fabric so they are fully movable (you can se the baggy/wrinkled fabric just where they meet the turret)

[moderator note: many interesting WIP pictures and closeups throughout the thread!] Hi fellow A:M'ers I've just started up an new and ambitious project (maybe to ambitious? ). Anyway, the project is to model the beautiful WWII cruiser KM Bismarck. I hope that I manage to keep an certain amount of details, but as you probably guess, this model is going to get an huge amount of patches. as it is now I have approximately 171K of them.... I make many of the parts of the ship as individual models, and assemble it all in an actions. Let me know what you think so far Best regards Stian UPDATED 03.08.06 assembled: [attachmentid=19199] [attachmentid=19200] [attachmentid=19201] [attachmentid=19202] arado floatplane: [attachmentid=19198] cannons: [attachmentid=17714] [attachmentid=17563] [attachmentid=17564] guns: [attachmentid=17616] [attachmentid=17640]
