  1. I probably should have said they didn't copy correctly. I'm not sure they were inverted because I had adjusted the bias to make a smooth surface on the original (don't ask ) but on the copied side it was warped. Also Darklimit, do you have any hooks in those areas? ---------------------------------------- -Ken I sure did and that was the problem, strange how hooks would be an issue like that.. I adjusted them and it copies fine for the most part... -Thanks guys...
  2. -Hi guys, -I have circled my problem in my pic, I copy and flipped half of my model and the model on the left shows the outcome which looks odd and nothing like the original half [ one on the right ]- -Any ideas?
  3. -Great stuff Kelly, it's all coming together nicely -
  4. -That's a really great dragon.. -I also did some exploring a while back with 2D shapes in A:M, it's fascinating.... A dragon I did but never really got around to finishing the scene:
  5. -starting from scratch or a pre-made model is a matter of taste, I always start from scratch with my models it's just how I work....I learn form other models based on observation, I say do whatever suits you.....
  6. -Great work Stian...
  7. yeah I can relate, some sites seem to only praise fan art... -Nice job on the ship TimeLord-
  8. -Great job Dusan and crew, ur hard work, style and presentation are beyond words.....Good luck to you all with ur film...
  9. -Great work Jirard and thanks for the settings insight.....
  10. -Smooth splining is tough but as you practice you will understand for urself how things flow... things like spline connection/spacing (from one row of splines to another)/A row of splines in either direction can affect smoothness in the middle......it's important that as you model you pay close attention cuz this is not like other methods of modeling where you can just model care free, alot of planning is needed.... Good luck...
  11. -here are some references that could be of some help; they can also be used as a rotoscope if you like-
  12. -Modeling in A:M is fun and artistic, you don't have to be a pro to model; I believe in visualizing what you want to create, (Clay, action figures, sketches) will always be a great help as you model...Spend quality time with your models and they will turn out good, modeling is never easy but it can be depending on how you approach ur work..
  13. -Lovely model well done..
  14. -Awesome work very realistic scene; really good job on the texturing..
  15. -I started modeling the body, the arms are a bit long for now but am just blocking out the form I want.......
  16. -Shelton, Thanks I also have tried before and I did not get good results....... -I have simplified the mesh cage removing extra details, My scene is simple so I don't really need all those details I had in my previous renders....I dropped the patch count from 1125 to 726 which am happy with, the head is done and am designing part of the body..
  17. jirard yes I created the character in my Avatar but not in A:M you can see a render here [http://s5.photobucket.com/albums/y155/DarkLimitArts/?action=view&current=CatFinal.jpg] Thanks alot guys for the feedback I have updated his head almost done detailing it then unto the body....I have chosen a scene for him so most of his body will be modeled.....
  18. -Great job, I have always had problems with hands maybe you do a small tut on how you created it? that would be great..
  19. jirard thanks mate, you know I have never used hooks up until this model so I will reevaluate it and see where I can use more to control the patch counts.........this model is not part of a project am doing it for my portfolio......
  20. Thanks guys, 3DArtZ I agree but I have eliminated extra splines from the get go and all thats there is what I need... He's about 1071 patches right now trying my best to keep it low... New updates..
  21. Hi guys, I am modeling a dragon which I have wanted to do for a long time, am not going for a typical design I plan to play with him a bit.....chances are i may not model the entire dragon which depends on what scene I decide to put him in.....so far this is what I have and am slowly adding details to his head; am not pleased with his mouth it's tricky to get it looking the way I want it to.. crits are welcome...
  22. -In the option panel under the global tab turn on "show property triangle" is that what ur looking for?..
