  1. TOO BAD we don't have image contests anymore... I'd like to see this image gracing the Hash homepage...
  2. I Like BOTH ices...maybe use them both? The right side whale pose looks a lot better...now I have ANOTHER issue... it looks like the left whale and the center whale are on a collision course thru that narrow channel! (Just tell me to shut-up...)
  3. GOOD GOD! That is powerful imagery! One little tweek... the orca on the far right looks a bit 'out the water' to me... other than that- GREAT!
  4. The reason I am keeping George separate is because he is nice and low-res and easy to work on. With 28,000 patches- the dollar bill model has slowed quite badly. To make a new CP or do a copy/paste function takes 1 minute of 'hourglass'...I need to rapidly revise the George model. The other option will be to add the George model to the bill in the chor with 'Translate To/Orient Like/ Scale Like constraints...maybe I'll do that.
  5. You can turn the hair's shadow property ON or OFF. From there, it is all set in the LIGHT. First off, looks like you are using a direct-overhead light. 2ndly, you can set the darkness and softness of the light in the lights properties. COOL!
  6. Thanks for your patience, Gene. SORRY they took so long. Hopefully it is because they are WAY busy. How do you like it? Can you post a pic of you wearing it?
  7. Thanks MT...will do. My 'big boss' came in and saw it- HE wants to do a version with Obama in it and all the text is Chinese...wonder whats on HIS mind...?
  8. Now I'm left with a question regarding ACTION OBJECTS... I have two models... 1) is the entrire dollar 2) is George model... I put them together in the chor using an action object. NOW- I am animating George in other actions... but there is no instance of George in the chor- SO where do I apply my action?
  9. Thanks guys...here's one more from Georgie...crackin myself up. I know---he needs work on his forehead, it's on my list. dollar_georgie.mov
  10. Haven't showed anything in a while so... I have been inspired by Stian's cathedral to do some modelling. I was looking at the intricate detail on a US $1 bill and thought... I'll do it in 3D! 4 days and 28,000 patches later... The 'George Washington' bust was big fun to do. I rotoed the basic shapes and began extruding. I borrowed Sir Nigels nose. I am now rigging it for basic motion...eyes, neck/head, mouth/jaw...maybe I'll get ambitious and do some ZignTrack motion capture. I will do some basic zooms and pans, maybe try to sell this for a TV spot or something... DOLLARsmall.mov
  11. Pretty durned cool! Hey! I see you have some Flash that needs to be wired-up there. I am working with a guy that is making a SWEET Flash-based chatroom. You can see a sample here: http://www.mind-probe.com/as3/chat/index.html
  12. OK- That's what I am doing...model over in a fresh model and copy paste into the main. GOOD TO KNOW.
  13. Are you asking about grouping poses...CPs... or actions...?
  14. Hey Stian- loving the cathedral! I am working on a model that has gotten to about 10,000 patches and now the model reacts very, very slowly whenever I make a new CP or copy paste. I was wondering if you have any advice for keeping a model's 'tactile-responsiveness' once the patch count grows...or is it just best to start another model once things slow, and combine them in action-objects... ? At what count does your models start to slow? YOU THE MAN!
  15. FUNNY! Way to keep an A:M 'legend' alive. GREAT STUFF! I miss having BP around...wonder which direction he went, last I saw of him he was really getting into oil painting.
  16. You can use an image to control the color of each hair strand... hmmmm?
  17. Your right...looks like some of the sound features are not wired-up. You can't key-frame the audio in the choreography, nor does the 'play' feature work in the sounds folder. Do it externally until Hash gets a programmer that can 'wire it up'......
  18. THAT's A START! I'm proud of you too! (Did you mean RobCat?)
  19. Have you discovered the terrain wizard? Could be a big help. Generally, in 3D...the further away you place the camera means the more geometry you will need to make. Your going to need a bigger model. Try the terrain wizard- it's a gem... make a new model- right click in the model and select Plugins/Wizards/Terrain and hit us with questions as they arise.
  20. Reminds me of an ear doctor I went to last summer for what I thought was an ear infection...'swimmers ear'. This guy took one look and said 'It's NOT swimmers ear... your hearing has gone bad...happens at your age.' and then went about selling me on expensive hearing aids. I had noticed on the way in that they offered 'FREE HEARING CHECKUPS' so I asked if I could get my hearing checked by another doctor. They put me in a booth with headphones and played sonic blips etc and discovered my hearing was FINE. The doctor was very disappointed at this and took another look in my ear and discovered...'oh- it's infected.' His alterior motive could not have been less obvious. GREAT MODELLING!
  21. I dunnoh... you make the geometry- but you want it gone...? You can add a CP to one of the splines... and if you want the adjoining patch to be visible you could specify it as a 5-pointer...not too bad of a dominoe effect. Making the patches 100% transparent should make them NOT render...it's weird that they still are...
  22. Why the long face? Just kidding...great stylization and modelling!
  23. Truly magnificent. Cant WAIT to see the tower.
  24. Hope we see more of you here-Fal. It would be good to see some of your work! What videos were you referring to...and which college?
  25. COOL! I think I saw that at Bed, Bath and Begone for $10!
