  1. The manual/cd should really direct you here: http://www.hash.com/forums/index.php?showforum=2 This is where you can get the latest updates. You have v13r because it's out of beta. v14 is what you're entitled to download with your cd. But as you can see, it's still only at the alpha stage so it's not ready for prime time. You can download the alpha to test out if you want.
  2. They're actually the latest levitating chairs......they give a nice air comfort that bog standard "on the floor" chairs just can't match. They're also known as chammocks.
  3. Yes! Fog definitely improves it by giving it more atmosphere and blending the edges abit. But ideally, some sort of edge blur would be perfect. Maybe photoshop has such a thing......I could even use canvas filters in there. Lots of directions to go. I'm not sure how I'd use hair to blur the edges. But it's probably a good idea. How it's done.... I just "cut up" the image into pieces in photoshop. Then I roughly build proxy models of them in AM. Finally, I eyed the angle of the models in the original and projected the cut up images onto each model. In the render options, I set Flat Shaded to ON. That means there's no shadows. If I had more time, I could probably unset flat shaded and light each element evenly, but I don't have that time. Here's an image of them in the chor and the fog mov. Thanks for the comments. castle.mov
  4. While taking a quick break from TWO animating, I stumbled upon this technique. It may have been done before, but I think it looks pretty cool. I'd like to get it abit more "impressionist" looking, but can't figure it out in the render settings. See what you think! The mov file is based on this image: castle.mov
  5. You should be aware that Poser models won't import well into AM. However, that's no reason to be put off buying AM.
  6. Yeah, without a screen shot or something, I'd guess it's mirror mode.
  7. Yeah, just listen to the filleting nuts as fillets only require bias tweaking.
  8. Do you mean like this? I lathed it.
  9. Looks like it's going to be good! Are you doing bevels?
  10. It may use the WINK software. Perhaps you need to install that?
  11. Yeah. I read that comment as sarcasm/amazement someone is making a living with AM. Why would he be against it.
  12. Huh? Where's it gone? I want to see Belle Tire.
  13. Nice work! I wonder which is the before and after picture for the woman!?! (Apologies if you know her.)
  14. A good way/start to get the mouth corners to move naturally is to weight them 50% with the head and the jaw bone. Nice work so far.
  15. Nice AO render! Can we see some shaded wire images?
  16. A good start. He seems abit face forward at the moment. When ever that happens to me, I select the side of the face and rotate it round the side abit. There may be one or two too many spline loops round the mouth.
  17. A free plugin that simulates gravity etc. Search the forum for it.
  18. An idea would be to intentionally make the ship in pieces. That way you can do the explosion in a pose and use sprites for the explosion. Maybe you could even use Newton Physics to simulate it.
  19. I've never seen or heard of it. What does it do?
  20. Real nice. His eyes could use some improvement though....unless you're covering them.
