Just an FYI... The month of February is pretty much anything goes. No dialogue. You get to animate to a nice jazzy swing number. I know there are a lot of A:Mers doing music videos

Thanks everyone. I can't take credit for the design of the characters. Professionals did all that work. I was just taking some old toys from around the house and trying to model them. The first was a Nickelodeon character called "CatScratch" The second was "Tico" from Nick Jr's Dora the Explorer.

And the other one... Let's see who has small kids here and can name the character. It didn't really come out like I wanted. Took too long. Has a lot of 5 point patches. Yadda, yadda, yadda. I think I'll stick to animating. Next.

didn't work in IE for me either. Downloaded it and I get "Error -2000 a necessary data reference could not be resolved (crussingtest9a.mov)" when opening.

Looks great. You definitely have this A:M modeling down. You inspired me to try to model again. It's just as difficult for me as I remembered though I'll post my attempt soon.

I've always struggled modeling with A:M (comparitively vs subD modeling) I enjoyed watching this and I think it might make me try to model in A:M again;) Thank you!

Great start. I think a little work on the arcs will make a big impact. As he first moves forward, lead with his shoulder (down then up and closed to open). As he side step, add a dip...that sort of thing. You also might want to break up the tweening, timing wise and with a little variation. Keep going.

How about mixed media... I really like the modeled beard and the textured stash or maybe it would look better/ best without the moustache at all

I got it this time. (This is one that comes up a lot especially with new A:M modelers.) Continuity and unnecessarily ending a spline into two continous splines. Check out the wannabe tutorials HERE A few spots on yours (red=bad green=good)

Great job! Could this be one for the "photorealistic" contest ? If you wanted even more detail/realism, 3DWorld #105 (July) had a nice tutorial that added a lot of details in the modeling instead of with maps (the tendons, creases, knuckles). It might still be on bookstore shelves and worth a look if you are interested.

I actually really like the mixed media look of #4 but like robcat stated, it might not "fit the graphic look" of the whole project. I'd have to see it in context with everything else.

I'm old school I'd keep it like you have it, constrained to the path and then layer another action over it to correct any steps that are not as you like or show up correctly in camera view.

Sometimes, that is the problem with buying things off some guy on the internet. But, if he gave you a full version of A:M and not just an upgrade and he gave you the manual that comes with it, it should be printed inside the manual itself. You might want to contact the seller if you did not get the manual or you can just buy the yearly subscription off Hash.com for $50

I agree. This definitely looks/plays better. Reminds of the good old looney tunes style or Casper take where the arms and legs jut and stretch way out. But something doesn't look quite right. Just wonder what the take would look like initially bent/arched the whole other/opposite way then back.

This just keeps getting better and better! I love all the details we get to see. Thanks! It is always good to throw a little twist into everything but I wanted to make sure it wasn't a translational thing. "Brother Grimms" or as traditionally written "Brothers Grimm" - They are two brothers. The first stands out as odd/twisted though
