    JD rigged

Steve, Steve, Steve......I'm guessing you rerigged JD on your own? You need to follow the directions when installing the hands/fingers, you are not scaling the bones correctly or you're not scaling the arm or back bones correctly. You MUST scale the bones in all 3 axis' equally, the ONLY exception is the balance install bone. You've had this problem before on a few models and I explained to you then as well. And I see you are still using the IK arms as a default. Marcos' model looks fine, though it still needs weighting. I'll post an update to Marcos' install with updated weighting, when I have a chance, so everyone can study the weighting.
  2. I'm assuming you setup the fan bone in a pose. Did you turn the pose ON?
  3. That looks cool.
  4. I'll be waiting.
  5. Nice dino. I'm surprised you were able to hook into the 5 point patch.
  6. What's the problem you're having? You can always send it my way and I'll take a look at it.

    2008 Rig

Legs IK and arms FK. The FK legs have its uses, like hopping on one foot (flying through the air?). And the IK arms are better suited for things like the doors stuck exercise or keeping the hands lock to a certain position (constraining the hand targets to a steering wheel of a car). It all depends on the situation.

Well, the proper way would be to do it manually. But.....if you have a version before and after you mirrored the constraints, you can fix it pretty easy. Open both models in a project, open the relationship folder of the MIRRORED constraints model. Navigate to the pose relationship of you fan constraints pose. Select the relationship1 of the pose and drag it to the name of the NON-MIRRORED model. This should update the relationship of the non-mirrored model with the left side constraints. Check to see if the left side constraints are in the non-mirrored model, if they are, save as a new model. Close A:M and reload, open the new model and check everything. You should be good to go. Just a note, you have to edit the relationship of the pose or be in an action window for the "mirror constraints" plugin to work properly. If you are not, when you run the plugin, the enforcements and offsets will not be correct.

OK, the mirror constraints plugin is causing the issue in my case. I've narrowed it down and can reproduce it. The question is, did you use the mirror constraints plugin? Closing A:M and reopening clears up the issue. Now, if you did use the plugin, it screwed up all the 2008 rig "Right" side poses by creating Left side constraints in them. This screws up the left side of the rig with double constraints in different relationships.

I've never seen the error loading string in the 2008 rig before. Are those suppose to be orient like constraints? It appears to only be in your added fan bones, is that correct? How did you duplicate the constraints for the fans on the left side? If you used the "mirror constraints" plugin, you may have caused issues in the finger control setup. It will be hard to track down without seeing the model file.
  11. Happy Birthday Holmes and everyone else celebrating today.
  12. Looks pretty cool. If you lower the displacement some, does the popping go away? What if you made the spikes rounder at the base, so it's less oval?

Yes, so it may mirror the bone (in some cases), but not the weighting. So depending on the rig being used, you should follow the naming convention of the rig, including case sensativity, which it appears that you have.

    spine curve

The one thing I notice is that you do not have the "Search string casesensative" option checked. It may or may not make a difference, but it's worth trying. If this doesn't work, you can send me the model, and I'll take a look.

Take a screen grab of the setting in the mirrorbones plugin dialog. A couple of things, where are these new fan parented? And what bone are you running the plugin from? Also, were these fans added after you ran the mirrorbones plugin once, and then you ran the plugin again to mirror the new fans?

    JD rigged

Yes, weighting to fan bones as needed.

Yup, that's what they're there for.

Marcos, did that fix your problem?
  19. I have tried to copy/paste mirrored with TSM2 rigged character and had no problems. That's why I asked for the action file. If you have a windows machine (the laptop), right click on the action file and select the "send to" option. There you can select the "compressed (zipped) folder" option.

Check your settings in the mirrorbones dialog. Make sure you use a capitol R and L in the Right and Left, and all the other settings are correct. Also check the direction of the right bicep fan bone, it looks as though it's pointing in the wrong direction.
  21. Check any poses, that you created, to see if the model bone is hidden.

David has a standalone face rig you could use located here (complete the 2008 rig first before installing the face rig). Just rename the head_geom bone, head, import the face rig and save. Then rename the head bone back to head_geom once you are finished with the face installation.

    JD rigged

JD, modeled by Jeff Bolle (Zaryin), was the model I used for the "rig along with me" thread for the squetch installation, located in the "getting started" thread.

I have one, but it's a very old version of the squetch rig. Your best bet is to rerig with the most current rig, in which you intend to use. At some point, David will be posting a new version of the squetch rig that doesn't need the recompensating of the constraints.
  25. Ok, I was able to DL them as individual files, but not as a zip file.
