Ok, so I said I'd post my review and I was planning to do it the same day that the DVD showed up, after I watched it, but life happened, then work happened. So, now that I've just uploaded all the edited videos to the client and I'm taking the weekend off (for once), here we go.... I loved it!!!! Watched twice the day the DVD showed up. Most of my kids walked in while I was watching it the first time, so they asked to watch it all the way through as well and they love it too. Only thing that really bothered me was that the hands seem too straight and un-natural. Maybe a slight curve to the fingers would be better. Watching it got me pumped for doing my own 3D muppet/puppet thing. So, since I'm taking the weekend off, time to do some research and work on something... Stalled Trek DVD now sits next to Killer Bean Forever, separated from the other DVDs in my collection as they hold a special meaning for me. Definitely looking forward to the next short you do, as well as your webseries (you are still doing that, right?).

Oooooo...... This looks like this could be all sorts of fun! Looking forward to this.

The DVD just showed up in the mail... I'm off to watch it and will post what I think later.
-
Oooooo.... A sequel! What would be cool, is if you could get Wil Wheaton to say "Woof!" and just keep using it over and over anytime "Woofly Crusher" is asked something.
-
Just placed my order for one. Been looking forward to this. Congrats on getting the DVD out there!

Just downloaded and took a look at this rig... Impressive. Gonna go play some more....

Will already knows how I feel about his work on TAR... But it's gotta be said again.... Outstanding work!!!! So, when are we getting the animated feature film about TAR?
-
Mike already knows my opinions on this clip. Glad to see him posting it here for you all to take a look at. I think "Ebon" is coming along nicely.

That muzzle/laser flash looks a lot like the kind of muzzle flash Jeff Lew used in KILLER BEAN 2 : THE PARTY!!! It sure does look like fun!
-
Rodney, umm.... Is he gonna grow wings and fly? Cause that sure looks like an aircraft wheel to me!!
-
Very, very nice!!! I'm glad to see this kind of work when popping into the forums. This is the kind of stuff that I love to see. Keep up the darn fine work!!!

DUDE!!!!! These totally rock!!! I'm a Lego-maniac!!! My wife thinks I'm nuts, but it gives me something to do away from the computer when I feel I need a break. You should do up a Death Star and Star Destroyer and make a little animation.

I'm really digging this bear... Reminds me of the one my Grandma gave me when I was 5 years old.

I'm thinking a Mickey Spilane animated type short here! That could rock on so many levels!

Looking good... This will be a sweet model once completed. Dhar : If they built them like this nowadays, the companies would go out of business. In our disposable society, you can't make something that will last!!

Check out the following pic... In it, I've highlighted what I think they are talking about as "star patches" in yellow. To fix the sides of the mouth, I believe that you can get away with some hooks (indicated in green). This will clean up the sides and should get rid of the pinch you've got going on there.

Looking good... Speed seems to be too fast. Also, why is the contrail coming off the end of the left wing? Contrail should be coming out of the exhaust. Maybe play around with showing off some afterburn as well. Bursts of heated water vapor in flight coming off the wings are possible, but not for the length of time this plane is flying, or showing up like this. 3 seconds for this entire animation seems too short to me. Should be longer, like 6-8 seconds. I'd search the internet for some footage of plane's turning, and engaged in battle. Will help you out a lot in learning how to set this up more realistically. Unless of course, you're going for an unrealistic flight pattern!

Yeah, what's going on with this? It's 12/12, and the premiere is a week away...

This would be a good model, to use A:M's hair shader on his arms.... Let's all remember that Wolvie is one hairy little fellow. Make him true to form, not the butchered version from the films!

Everything's looking great... I noticed the comment about the ERTYL model not being up to spec. I dunno where you guys are getting your starship design from, but I've found this place to be very accurate, with pics and descriptions. Maybe it'll help you all out! Keep up the good work, can't wait to see the finished product.

Looking good!!! I like it! Wolvie was always my favorite too! This isn't the first time I've seen an A:M user do Wolverine, but it has been a while. Last time I saw Wolverine modelled was back when v7 or v8 was the latest. Some guy popped into IRC and was showing it off. This stylized version from the arcade is nice. I remember playing that game for hours. However, my favorite version of Wolverine will always be the way that Sam Kieth drew him. No one's even come close to really pegging him, in my eyes.

Y'know... Maybe it's just me, but I'm not seeing what all the hoopla is for. Yeah, it's an animation, and it looks okay. You guys seem to act like it's the second coming of DaVinci or something... Really. In all seriousness, fantastic work Stephen! I remember seeing models and stuff way back. Glad to see it in "teaser" form! Keep up the good work!

The models are looking great, and I'm sure you're aware of this, but just in case... If you use any of the original Star Wars music, your entry cannot be submitted to standard film festivals without the proper rights being released and that means $$$. Usually the FanFilm based fests are ok. Another thing to be wary of, is that if you do submit to festivals (using your own music or royalty free music) and you win in a category that awards a monetary prize, you have just violated the terms that LucasFilm allows fan films under, and you can be sued. Uncle George has been very clear that you're free to play in his backyard with his toys, as long as you are not making money off it! Again, just wanted to point this out. Nothing better than to complete a project, get it submitted, and then be told you're in the wrong and have it shelved for no one to see again. I've watched quite a few Star Wars related films get shot down after they were completed, because of money coming into it somehow... Best of luck with this, I can't wait to see it. Next June, eh? Shoot for a June 6 release... That'll be a great b-day present for me!

Looking good. One thing I'd change, is moving the control stick to the right side of the cockpit. Most newer fighters have it placed here, as they are using a fly-by-wire control and not the old cable controls. Of course, if you're going for that retro look, leave it in the center! Without knowing exactly what you're going for, it's hard to point things out. If you're trying to copy a current fighter, then try to find pictures of that cockpit. If you're going for something that looks realistic, but isn't actually available, look at all the pictures of fighter jet cockpits that you can. It'll help with your design. Good luck!

It's my understanding that once Hash purchases the plugin(s) from the developer that all previous versions must be removed. Standard with most software companies when they purchase the rights from the developer. As for those projects on the Hash site, if they've been saved by v13, then loading them in v12 isn't going to happen. v13's file format has changed. v12 will not recognize the files. Try looking through the forum for some of the older examples that had been posted for Newton. You might be able to find some.
