  1. Hi piming, Your pipedream is not going to happen. As Martin stated so many times, a true compatibility between the patch and the polygonworld is simply not workable.
  2. Interesting ears on the dino.
  3. Gerald, I was just kind of joketeasing a bit. A:M is still a fantastic program and your efforts for it are highly apreciated! Its just that the competition is developing in vast steps ahead also, that makes it harder to give arguments for newcomers to just pick A:M. (What also gives a kind of mixed impression is the amount of outstanding work from long ago and members that vanished in the meantime, that gives it away somehow, that they might have left for greener grounds. So maybe it would be better to just use only more recent examples from active members?) I still would get rid of the old logo that shouts "buy me, you comiconkids!" and consider Tores direction that spells "yes A:M is not a toy /gimmick but can be used in serious enviroments". But your solution for the logo on the website is also good enough for the time being.
  4. Tore, your new logodesign is perfect and should really be considered. The old logo really is outdated by now and crys "amateurish" and just for "kids", which might give new onlookers a fair warning, but thats not what we want , do we. Jake Great work on that new website, Gerald. A huge step forward to keep A:M up and running.
  5. Happy birthday Gerald and thanks a lot! Feier schön Jost
  6. It doesn't really require you to save your work to the cloud and no where else, does it? Its not a matter of where to save, but of compatibility. When you bought photoshop you can just stop updating, if you run out of money. In the cloud if you stop your subscription you wont be able to work on your clients files anymore, So if you are broke you are in much more serious trouble then with just stoping updating. Older versions you might still have , wont open your files anymore. I think this is the maindrawback addobe has to adress, filehandling after end of subscription.
  7. And how about not being able to work with your files anymore, if you run out of money? Thats the biggest risk of the cloud in my opinion. If you bought your software you can freeze your updates anytime, without loosing your ability to work. With the cloud, of you are broke you really get broken.
  8. It might be interesting just for one or two users around here, but far more usefull would be a connection to or a similar thing to a realtime rendering solution like unreals udk or marmoset offers. We could spill out animations so fast, that it would be fun to do "movies" finally. And the quality would be sufficient for you tube pay channel . If you do land a "boxoffice hit " that way, you could still let rerender it in topnotch quality later on. Just my two cents. Dont look for the grapes that hang too high, but look for smaller possibilities in reach .
  9. yes and the people from that time would certainly be shocked how things changed. They had so much space and beautifull dresses and just alcohol as a drug. What would they think off our narrow ceilings and tatooed and pierced people in ragged clothes? Probably that we all gone poor and have become hobos. Well typicial thing of " it was all better in the old times" Jake
  10. Major drawback of the new pen: You cant use its drawsensitivity with all win software like for example z-brush . Also Adobe tries to lure you into the cloud again for optimization of use with photoshop. So this excludes the tablet for me . If you compare it pricewise with the wacom companion with its longtime approved tchnology And drivers its also not that big a difference coming down to some 100 dollar, if you reckon it All. So that point wont drive my decision. Seems like wacom with its companion can keep its unique position in this field for a while. (There is also the big lenovo thinkpad yoga available with wacom pen, but hard to find at their Cluttered "business like" website.)
  11. This looks so great I really also wish you the commercial succsess you have deserved for such a long time now. Best of luck from here.
  12. Will probably have to buy a new copy of Corel Painter (big bucks) as my copy is too old to upgrade, and won't activate. Will need a tablet (will go with wacom Intuos pro probably). Why not buy Manga Studio pro from Smith Micro instead? The Frenden brushes are fantastic and its very affordable.
  13. I think, its not possible now in a way that makes sense (except the soulcagedepartment solution maybe )and most unlikeley, that we get a plugin solution from Hash to lets say cycles. Simply not realistic at the moment or near future. So for some of my purposes i am transfering some of my charas , assets to poly with the obj exporter , liberating Many renderpipelines, but in that case that Leads to using others applications for most tasks ,leaving A:M just for basemeshmodeling.
  14. Hi Yves, Frankly i dont understand all of that techy talk, But it would be great to have the possibility to achieve a look and style Like from physical correct renderes like cycles or maxwell. If you are saying, you could come close with A:M if you are just knowilageable enough The better.
  15. Unity is free as long as you dont want to publish a game. So I guess you could do "cinematics" for free.
  16. Nobody commenting on that?.. Dont you guys think that realtime gi will be pretty sensational http://unity3d.com/5
  17. The new unity gameengine update comes with realtime radiosity! Maybe thats an alternative while using the pipeline Fuchur pointed out ?
  18. Not working on i pad. Maybe use another codec format?
  19. I Think your modeling skills and style have reached a very, very high standard. Love your tank and toony cars. Keep it up. ,) Jake
  20. Why is it you get no percentage from the sales?
  21. As far as i understand, its a monitor with build in Android ( like some tvs ) and you can use it also with a regular pc. Then you would have the other OS but no "tablet" anymore .
  22. Only works with android, so no option really...
  23. The first movie on this site is really great... But why would anybody need such a thing in the days of animestudio and wacoms? Working digitally saves a lot of scanning!
  24. Hi jack, Nice charas. Looking forward to see your finished work. And happy and laborious new year 2014! . Jake
