  1. Very nice! Especially for a first head in A:M. Have you done 3D work in other apps? Welcome to the community, Jim
  2. Nice work, Pat! She's got a familiar-looking tatoo near her navel. Very nice texturing and lighting, too. Two crits only. Her hands are really (really) large. And her elbow became too thin when it bent. Otherwise...super! Jim
  3. Ah! Now that's when cars were...uh.... tanks! Looking nice as always, Rodger. Jim
  4. Rich, The close-ups really show how hard you worked on this model. Excellent texturing! A realistic model is a massive undertaking and you've done a very good job so far. There are a few areas that could use some tweaking. The outside corners of the eye sockets seem pulled back too severely. Maybe the indentation can be softer. Also, the way the nostrils blend into the moustache area seems too soft. There is "usually" more of a division between those areas. Your live model may not have that, and if not, please disregard. Thanks for sharing your work, Jim
  5. Very nice character! I love the short lower arms. He's a lot of fun to look at. Can't wait to see him move. Jim
  6. Wow, Sam! Great motion and great emotion! It read very well. I wanted to see more. Jim
  7. Wow! Great cartoony anticipation and action. Well done. Show us more! Jim
  8. Very cool, Sam! Nice fluid motion and smooth character. Does he have porcelain applied? Also, would you say the facial rig you used is only good for cartoony characters? Do you think a more realistic character might be too hard to rig that way and still animate semi realistically? Thanks for showing your new character! Jim
  9. Wonderful! A lot of fun! Now, which of you guys had to act out the dance moves? Jim
  10. Beautiful work, Carl! That pose is gorgeous! Jim
  11. William, THANKS! This is great. I love the idea of all the decals on one image. That will eliminate a lot of project clutter. I have seen samples like this but didn't know how it was done. Thanks again, Jim
  12. Oh yeah! I like it! Very nice models. Excellent stylization. Thanks for sharing! Jim
  13. Nice modeling! He has a lot of character. I'm looking forward to the facial animation tests. Jim
  14. Wow! The raytracing really brings him to life. Nice lighting job! I have found getting specular highlights in hair to be difficult if the hair is very thin, as it seems yours might be. You can try to thicken the hair but you may lose a little realism. (I assume you tried to increase the specular intensity and size for the hair already.) Nice work, Jim
  15. Being a Christian, I would only be offended if it ridiculed the Lord. Too many people slander God because of people's actions. People who do awful things are fair game, in my book. But then again, anyone casting the first stone would be a hypocrite. My thoughts, Jim
  16. You may have to increase the number of control points for the hair guides. Jim
  17. The texture of the hair looks great in the second render even though it got "out of control". Keep showing updates! Jim
  18. Antony, Very nice! The hair looks great and so does the texturing. How does it look when you use raytrace shadows? Jim
  19. That's wonderful! He moved just like being underwater. Well done! After working on building a patio in the warm spring weather, that sure looked refreshing to me. Jim
  20. The eyebrows really help convey the attitude now. Very nice! Happy Birthday, Jim
  21. Wow! Impressive work. You obviously have a lot of patience. Are you planning on keeping it black and white to emulate the photography of that time period? Jim
  22. Nice stuff just for a test, Shaun. I wonder if maybe some more facial distortion might be needed to add to the beak movement, like in the cheeks to emphasize certain words. I'm sure you'll get to the eyebrows and such later. Maybe this is just to test mouth poses, so ignore that if that's the case. Nice to see things coming along. Jim
  23. I love the hair on the sides of the head! Very funny. Jim
  24. Well done, Shaun. His motion was good enough that I wanted to step on him. (Now that it's spring, the ants are starting to become more active around where I live.) Jim
