  1. Great stuff! Congrats to everyone involved.
  2. Are you sure the constraints aren't working? Is the mirrored side now weighted? It could be that the CP's aren't assigned. It would be a lot easier if I could look at the actual model. You can delete the geometry and just post the rig...that way I can tell if the rig itself is working properly. If that is the case, then it is the weighting.
  3. Very cool, Mark!
  4. Still tweaking the rig, but I think I'm going to do a little modeling on the second set starting this week (I think I'm going to have a little time for a change). I still have some things to do to the first set, so I'll try to work that in as well. I'm going to try to divide my time while working in A:M to see if I can keep things from grinding to a halt while I get non-Bertram things done as well.
  5. Love the "army man" Thoms, Gene!
  6. Very cool, Nancy!
  7. I don't think this is the problem, but it never hurts to check...is the model bone hidden in a Pose somewhere? If it is, make sure it isn't hidden.
  8. Very cool, Mark!
  9. Bruce...I'm going to have to nominate you for a genius award! Great idea.
  10. Cool gear, Mark!
  11. There is also a folder named "TSM2" that should have some folders inside named "characters", "components", "manual" and "scripts"...is that in your HXT folder, Gerry?
  12. I have the 32bit RC1 for v16 installed and it worked fine for me (Windows). ------------------ EDIT ------------------ I was going to put a copy of the RC1 installer in my storage for you, Robert...but I think I deleted it accidentally when doing some cleaning.
  13. Great critique and info, Robert! Thanks for posting it.
  14. Congrats, Jesse!
  15. Great stuff, Mark!
  16. I'm trying to get to more on this, Steve. I've been spreading myself very thin lately, but it will happen. At the moment, I'm upgrading the Squetch Rig and then making installation tutorials...which is loosely related because that's what is going to be put into Bertram. I've had very little free time since sometime in December...I thought it would taper off at the end of January, but it hasn't. I've got about seven or eight irons in the fire, so there is still movement behind the scenes. Sorry for the delay. I'll see if I can do more in the way of multi-tasking...maybe that will help show some movement.
  17. Using IK arms should keep the hands from moving...unless you reach the limits of the length of the arms. Hope that helps.
  18. Happy Birthday, Jason Simonds!
  19. Looks great, Mark!
  20. The Expression in this tutorial could be applied in more situations than I could list...usually as a small part of a lot of Expressions and constraints. Off the top of my head, I know it has been used in things like the Hand Gizmo and the face rig in the Squetch Rig...it's a building block for a lot of setups. It's similar to an "orient like" constraint, but the rotation is able to be isolated on a per axis basis and requires actual rotation being applied to the source bone. Expressions in general are extremely powerful...this tutorial is a very simple example. They are a big part of a rigging toolkit along with constraints, Smartskin and bone parenting...each used for different reasons depending on the situation. Hope that is helpful, Jason.
  21. I've been bouncing around a little, so I'll have to make another "stay alive" post in this thread...I've been spreading myself a little thin, but things are still getting done. I spent a couple of evenings worth of time putting together three "Quick Start" tutorials on Expressions that are in this thread. I'm hoping it is the start of a large collection of such tutorials on a number of subjects made by the community...we'll see. I felt that it was time to make the ones I did...I'll make more as time permits. Still tweaking the rig...which I feel is improving steadily.
