  1. I've been modeling some things for the image contest, but I definitely won't make the deadline. I had two possible images, ended up deciding the first one needed a lot of work before I could call it finished, decided to work on the second one and have now bumped up against the deadline. I might just save the models for a future contest or something...I hate to waste things. Good luck to all of the participants!
  2. I'm thinking it would require adding a positioning bone in the Choreography and replacing the "0" in the "If()" statement to the XYZ of that positioning bone. Then, while the Pose is off, you would be able to move the object using the positioning bone. I can't put an example together until late tonight, but, hopefully I explained it adequately.
  3. Great stuff, Steve!
  4. Try this updated version of the model, John. rbird_update2.mdl
  5. Happy Birthday, Mike!
  6. Happy Birthday, Elm and Eric!
  7. Startpage is a search engine that doesn't store your data. Comodo Dragon is a more secure browser based on Chrome. Comodo Ice Dragon is a more secure browser based on Mozilla. StartMail is currently in beta testing. Hope that helps.
  8. It works fine for me, Robert. I had realtime issues recently, but I installed a few updates to the OS (Windows 8.0) and everything seems to be running better.
  9. Happy Birthday, Dhar!
  10. Looks like AtTime() is for keyframed sources only. I don't know if Steffen can add Expression sources, might be worth asking.
  11. Some nested "If()" statements along with some "AtTime()" statements could probably get a few things like that done. What would be an example of what you would want to do, Robert?
  12. Hmmm, maybe it's a bug in the AtTime() function that is causing the problem?
  13. Maybe something like this project? Model1 moves Rand()*30, Model2 moves Round(..|..|..|..|..|..|Shortcut to Model1|Bones|Bone1.Transform.Translate.Y,15)...so, you would use something outside of the visible object (with a random movement) to generate movement on the visible object (which is only moving once a threshold is reached...in this case, 15). Hope that helps. Random_04_16_2014.prj
  14. It could be because of the way the Rand() function generates it's random number. If it's truly random, and generated on each frame, it might change every time you go through the same frame...which I'm guessing would mess with something trying to predict where it will be on a given frame. Just a guess though, I could be totally wrong.
  15. Here is a tutorial on the SetFrame(frame), AtTime(time,n) and GetTime() functions. Here is tutorial on the Abs() and RGB() functions. Here is a tutorial on the "Max()", "Min()" and "Round()" Expression functions. Hope that helps.
  16. Rand() generates a number between 0 and 1, so multiplying that number by 255 (as you have already done) will limit the result to between 0 and 255. The project worked fine on my end.
  17. Yes, it's another dreaded "stay alive" post. I've been doing some modeling, but, once again, not enough to show anything. So that this post is not a total waste, I'll mention a program that seems to be a help for me...Alchemy (cross-platform and free). It's great for coming up with designs. Eventually, I'll be able to show something I'm building based on an image I made with it. Hope it helps.

    Great stuff, John!
  19. Very cool, Rodney!
  20. Happy Birthday, Mark and Paul!
  21. Happy Birthday, Anders!
  22. Looks great, Steve!
  23. Quicktime should be available in the 32bit version, Apple has not updated their code for use in 64bit software. AVI is available if you use uncompressed video. Hope that helps.
  24. I've been running A:M on a laptop with Windows 8 and haven't had any issues. To transfer the license to the new computer, contact Jason. As far as recommended specs, someone else may know. I consider what I'm currently using as underpowered for some things, mostly because it doesn't have a dedicated graphics card, but it can do quite a bit for what it is...it has a middle-of-the-road i5 and 6GB of RAM. Of course, the speed of the processor, the amount memory, the amount of video memory, having a dedicated video card and type of hard drive will affect how good your experience will be. What I think would do the job for me, would be an i7 4800MQ processor, 16GB of RAM, at least 2GB of video RAM (more would be better), 1920x1080 anti-glare display with an SSD hard drive...but you can get by with less. Hope that helps.
  25. Great stuff, Mark!
