  1. Robcat, Not sure about the external file thing... sorry... All, JohnL3D posted a project file not unlike the effect above some time ago. I think he plans to keep it on his site for awhile... At least I hope so... Since it's version 10 he may get rid of it to make room for new stuff. So, get it while you can. Link: http://johnl.inform.net/pages/10material18.htm
  2. Really, Really cute! Now I want one of my own!
  3. Has anyone heard from that guy.... what's his name James.... Jeff..... Jim!!! Jim Talbot! That's the guy. Anybody seen or heard from Jim Talbot lately!
  4. I really like the renderng style.... toon render right? Haven't seen a lot of posts with setting like that... Care to share?
  5. Wow! I wanna live there.... please! Love your lighting and color, John. ...and your idea of capturing the swimming in flight.... awesome!
  6. John, Looking VERY good! Hmmm maybe we should warn the makers of ZB2 that the A:M users will be arriving shortly... Don't forget to tell them John (and Animation Master) sent you...
  7. I like. The simplicity of your modeling is a definite plus. Since your client is asking for detail I assume you'll add even detail more via decals after you finish adding geometry. Really looking forward to the textures etc!
  8. Gerry, Very Nice indeed! I'd hire you! As I was watching your deck assemble itself I was thinking "this is just what Popular Mechanics needs to put together for it's website". Not that I've ever been to PMs website. Hope to go back and look at some of your other animation soon as well! Great job... and good luck on getting the new job!
  9. That would make a great Arctic Pigs 'real time' animation!
  10. Guys, We are straying a bit from the topic of trees perhaps but it might be good to note that IRFANVIEW can run many of the available plugins made for photoshop, perhaps all of the free plugins. Some of the latest and those designed spefically for photoshop it will not support of course. With a little enginuity it is not impossible to make leaves worthy of Marcel's plugin from even such simple freeware programs as irfanview. I'm sure there are a host of other programs available to get the job done. So... who has another tree pic to post?
  11. A three day break is coming up. I hope to get caught up on everything... (yeah, right) As for Salami Fever... You're wish was/and remains my command. My brainwashed mind does not remember specifics... for instance... I do not remember any requirements for trees... I'll contact you off-forum at the precise time you surely must have instructed me to contact you.
  12. As far as 'I' can tell, John is only using the AV2 (AVA) files to solve the problem of exporting A:M models with 5 point patches: Not sure of the final format John is importing into ZB2. But he is exporting the AVA out and then back into A:M to solve the model's mesh problems. *Most* exporters don't know how to handle 5 point patches. Evidently, neither does ZB2. It sounds like John has found an excellent work around.
  13. Will stand by.... awaiting futher orders.
  14. *Hope this isn't my 1000th post... It's not suppose to be this one! Forgot to update here: Since I probably won't be able to retrieve my 3D walk cycle anytime soon... I'll post the basics idea here... with more to come. The *trick*: What the previous images consist of is 3 instances of the same model dropped into a choreography. From the choreography adjust any one of the models CPs/Splines to create depth. Don't adjust too far if using line rendering or the separate lines show. Lines that are extruded into patches have much more flexibility in thickness... *Note: The models do NOT have any solid patches (in the middle of the model) so only the outline renders. The background is white set in camera settings. Attached is a pretty much useless line test project. But it shows some of the basics with both line rendered and patch render lines. I may recreate my 3D walk cycle if I can't retrieve it.
  15. Christina, From a Model window Select Plugins Export Avatar 2 (*.AV2) There may be other ways. Here is a screenshot:
  16. John, Thanks for your research and documentation on this! Another Thank you for the information on exporting to AVA to correct models... this could be quite useful to more than a few people! Keep researchin'!
  17. Hey... I somehow missed your WIP post. I like! Looks like he's a character with a lot of... er... um... character! I look forward to seeing his adventures!
  18. Bravo! A camera move and... a reveal to a wonderful finish! I won't spoil the ending for anyone... you'll have to see it yourself! Rodney says, "Thumbs Up!"
  19. I like, especially the contrast of his height to the door. It's VERY plain to us that he is quite tall. Your flow on movement seems right on as well. Jolly Good show... looking forward to more comments from others.
  20. I recon'd the link... All clear... It's okay to go into the link guys! Cute! *Had me worried for a moment there though...
  21. Hashgurrl...You are the one that rocks! This is a statement I wouldn't have imagined ever quoting....ever. You have made it not only possible to quote BUT have demonstrated HOW they rock!. Before today... nobody (except a few lonely souls) seemed to like A:M's boolean implementation... until... that is....TODAY! The endless possibilities of A:M booleans operations have just been revealed in a powerful way. I can now say, "A:M boolean render-time implementation is equal if not superior to model based boolean implementation... and here's why . Today you have achieved official guru status! (You were before... perhaps just not commonly known to all.)
  22. Marcel, I've been wanting to see a Challenge issued in the Forum for quite some time. The trees would be a great beginning! Can we start a new Challenge topic though... it might get lost here at the end of this 6000+ views, 100+ posts extravaganza! *I'd be glad to set up and issue the Challenge, pending confirmation (with challenge specific criteria) from you.
  23. Is it just my imagination or does the Treeez plugin create trees instantaneously in Beta 5 whereas it took a little longer in earlier versions (v10.5, early Betas).?
  24. I like the pine... it 'says' wood to me. (Of course, I do not answer 'it' back for fear I will be locked up for a very long time) So... what are your plans for your wooden dummy?
  25. Noel, Do I count for a yell! PLEASE! Show us an example of what you mean. ;o)
