  1. Very Impressive. Anyone wanting to do liveaction in A:M should check out this Behind the Scenes movie! I might have to try some of that out myself someday!
  2. I take it you must have created the decaled rivets with a bit of shadow and light 'cause, while I can see the difference when I look for it it took me quite a while. Now I look at them and say, Oh, that's what he means! Color me educated! I'm thinking in some cases the decals might be better than modeled ones... and not just for speed in rendering. If you take a quick glance at the smaller (first) picture... which rivets seem to stand out more? I think the decaled ones caught my eye first. Then as I looked closer the detail of the modeled ones (assumming the rivots along the top going forward to the front of the car are real) got my attention. I'd say an excellent demonstration of the possible benefits of mix and match!
  3. It looks to me from the second shot that you have some splines that could be removed without hurting the model and, most likely, improving the look near the ears. The fourth line in (the base of the ear and end of head) I think could be deleted. Just my 2 cents. *Attached a pic of the one I talking about
  4. Steve(392-type), Care to share how you got the painted look for your leaves. Your answer might help with another project I'm working on. Back a bit On Topic: I answered my own question concerning the base group. Yep, just be careful. but... Now I've lost my bark textures dingdratit! I'm making this a LOT harder than it is.
  5. You go Zach! Good Luck and Make us proud. (They grow up so fast...) Sniff.
  6. That guy looks like he's gonna have something to say. Nice work!
  7. Marcel, Just so I don't misunderstand (again). The base group can be pretty much as detailed as you want it... Just as long as it's a group? Getting distacted here... Have to play with the kids. It's quite shameful the way their sad face treatmetn works on me...
  8. Thanks for the information. Since your first example mentioned hair I had tunnelvision and might have assumed the hair material was integral to the process. Thanks also for the information on SDK limitations. My knowledge there is spotty at best. Hope to see you're wish list implemented! Looking forward to seeing more people post their results with your plugin.
  9. Excellent example! Your value as a plugin creator has just skyrocketted! (Not that it wasn't huge before)
  10. The following fits into the 'everyone's a critic' zone so don't read this wrong. What you've done is SUPER COOL!: -------------------------- Seems the steps needed once the tree is generated are as follows: - Create a basic hair material - Group the leave areas into one group - Drop the hair material on to the leaves group At the risk of being stoned to death... Could these steps be automated after the tree is generated? Note: Once people play around and a good tutorial is produced that would be almost the same, I guess. Customers... are never satisfied.
  11. I like Ken's suggestion! Group different areas. You'll probably want your top (higher) feathers group to be on top (lower) in the PWS. You might be able to vary the size... seems like I saw that in the info on hair images... maybe not Personally I think you're trying to butter up steve@hash.com by modeling the 'bird'. (Why didn't I think of that before)
  12. More infos coming Diego but until then if you have the .hxt file in the right folder all you should have to do is right click in the model window/select plugins/Treez wizard and... whala the tree is generated. Learning myself...
  13. Pretty tricky how your getting everyone moving toward upgrading to v11! Sneaky.
  14. Marcel, As you can see from my added screenshot (2 posts back) no materials were generated. Maybe I broke it after I downloaded... I'll look into it. I thought your plugin created the material/hair stuff so was surprised when I didn't see it
  15. Tested in Beta 3 before I realized you'd said v10.5. Seems to work fine. I'm still trying to figure out how hair fits in though. Going into v10.5 to see what (if anything) may be different. I assume I need to create a group of the leaf areas and apply a hair system material. Checking v10.5 to see if this is a correct assumption. Attached: first screenshot of my first tree created with Marcel's Treeez plugin. Tweaked the base to get a bit more root stickin' out. I like thus far...
  16. Oh... there it is! Typed too soon.
  17. I'd guess that since the leaves are hair you may be able to use any leaf picture you want? Yeah? neah? More importantly though... I cannot see the download... Am I dense or what?
  18. Looking VERY good! More please. If you can share any technique/advice that would be helpful to everyone. (i.e. I'm part of the subset of everyone)
  19. Vong (Curtis) will be interested in borrowing/linking for Chat purposes! You DID say small... and weren't lying! Critique: For me, The voice finishes 'before' getting hit by the fish. If that's not suppose to happen that way... it actually adds to the humor for me a bit. Edit: small/tiny same difference, right?
  20. The movie, strangely, refused to open for a while... I think it might have been a combination of the size... AND the fact that I tried to open at least three instances of the movie at the same time... I liked it! For whatever may be said of the rough edges, and yeah I saw a few, you sir have now lived the dream! You've participated in the Star Wars phenomenon in ways many could only dream about. That alone without any other redeeming value would make me say Bravo! But... your little movie deserves another Bravo as well! It captures the spirit of Star Wars and much of the imagery as well. Personnally I think the bike/scooter is better than the one from Clone Wars! And probably fit better into the storyline as well In Clone Wars I remember thinking, "Why is he getting on a little hover tricyle. He's suppose to be some super bad guy... The images etc in your movie fit better IMO. So whats your next Star Wars interlude/insert about?
  21. Sean, Hey! He animates very well. Have to be honest I didn't know how well he would when you posted you first pic. He sounds like me at work, "Why do I have to do this every day!" Good show, sean!
  22. Animation Master allowed me to make my own Star Wars movie. Sounds like that'd be a pretty good endorsement! Downloading Now!
  23. Wow! Excellent update! I can't help but think the client is going to be happy with the work you are producing. *All you potential city builder's BETTER be taking notes!
  24. Looks good enough to drink! Excellent progress DL, I'm takin' notes myself...
  25. Did you rig him yourself or use TSM, 2001, Cogs, etc? Also, the shading effect looks a lot like pencil, Did you use Toonnation plugin material settings? I love those!
