  3. As you can see, it's all based on my favorite Enhance_AM combiner; AM_Dirt. My only problem with it is the way the blend percentages work. I had assumed that if you wanted an equal distribution of six evenly distributed grey levels (0, 51, 102, 153, 204, 255) then the blends should be five bands with the same limiting percentages. A look at a histogram of the resulting material showed this wasn't true. So after some trial and error I found the blends shown that produced a reasonably even histogram and I use these consistently with colour choices that are subtly different so they combine well t

  4. The latest addition to my railroad needs long sheets of diamond pattern steel plate. I wanted these plates to look well used, slightly rusty and to have varying amounts of dried dirt on them. I wasn't looking forward to building the material because while it's relatively easy to build show-room new surface finishes, I had never been happy with any of my attempts at old steel and procedural dirt looked too much like soft edged clouds. I thought the only way I could get hard edged dirt would be a decal. However after much experimentation I've got a material that's more than adequate. At thi

  5. I have been working on A spider man Thoughts on the spider on his back. Would it be best made with bump maps I have been trying to make in modeling just can not get it smooth with contours with back muscles .if bump map needs to be made I do not have PS no more.it may just have to be a decal. How would you get around this. is modeling it my best way keep working at it. Thank you

  6. The technical references are not, for me, didactic enough. I already understand English very poorly and I remember the manipulations in a very visual way. This is why I particularly like videos ! I do not think I am the only one in this case. This is why I propose to make these videos. Making the videos is a great way for me to learn how it works. Everyone benefits from it. As much me as the others ! That said, I want to base my approach on existing documents! The opposite would be a shame ! I prefer to just discuss it in community before so that the examples and illustrat

  9. After several attempts to use bvh files on AM I seem to get the root of the error I experienced. I always used a model with a rig on them, but then got blocked by the fact that the account of bones in the bvh file does not correspond to the ones Animation Master uses. So to get rid of this error of attaching bones to the bvh, I just got the idea to use a boneless model, make the set up with an imported bvh file, and then attach the bones in the model window viewing in the action window if they confirm to the ones in the bvh file. As soon this is done in a global scale, it becomes matter t

  15. It is not compulsory. However, I have often found that the last constraint I made is not immediately recognized in the Actions or Chors I have the character in. Forcing a Save on the PRJ will make it work, or it is often convenient to start a new Action if i am just testing something. I could test it in a new Chor but the Action is more convenient. Poses, Actions and Chors all store key frames but Poses don't cause these keyframes to happen at a time. ON/OFF Poses store settings you make, to be active when the Pose is ON and not active when the Pose is OFF. (The Pose Sli

  17. For the reply of the question, what do I do when the subject is not a pose in the concerned way of a bone related object. I mean, when I just make a spline of two controlpoints and I move them on the grid. In that case does the Ease channel work? For the screenshots, well.., you have no idea how much I've made of them. I almost have a complete library Here are some of the monsters, as well as the conveybelt.

  18. Sorry but i do not agree... if you are an newbee and want to learn 3d do not go with blender. it is not as easy to learn not near as intuitive as A:M and it likly will never be... it has many features but it still is a thrown together piece of software... A:M may not have all the bells blender has (it has all the once needed though) but the workflow is much better thought through and feels like out of one piece while different tools in blender feel like one person did one and the next did another and everybody did it the way they liked it... that feels like that because it really is that way.
