*A:M User* Shelton Posted February 4, 2017 *A:M User* Posted February 4, 2017 It has been awhile since I posted. Robert has been working with Chris and I over the past few months and I have learned a great deal. Here is something I started in 2006 and it is time to get started again. Steve 2 Quote

Hash Fellow robcat2075 Posted February 4, 2017 Hash Fellow Posted February 4, 2017 He looks gruesome! Somebody call a chiropractor! Quote
*A:M User* Shelton Posted February 4, 2017 Author *A:M User* Posted February 4, 2017 Thanks David, Steve and Robert! Over the next three weeks I want to model a couple of characters. A goblin and a knight. As a history nut, I have always loved the middle ages time period and fantasies of that time. I have had a story line that I would love to animate. When I bought my first animation package, on an Atari computer in 1990, I wanted to tell the tale of a knight, a goblin and a dragon and their friendship. I have lost all my notes of the story but for a while I will see if I can remember. Quote
Admin Rodney Posted February 4, 2017 Admin Posted February 4, 2017 Looking good Steve. It's great to see you back in action! Quote
Hash Fellow robcat2075 Posted February 5, 2017 Hash Fellow Posted February 5, 2017 That would be a great customer in your coffee shop movie. Quote
*A:M User* Shelton Posted February 5, 2017 Author *A:M User* Posted February 5, 2017 Thanks Rodney! Robert, I thought the same thing. Here is the character with the legs reshaped, knee cap and the feet on. Reworked the belly area. Quote
*A:M User* Shelton Posted February 12, 2017 Author *A:M User* Posted February 12, 2017 I have the knight ready for his suit of armor. Quote
*A:M User* Shelton Posted February 12, 2017 Author *A:M User* Posted February 12, 2017 Here are the goblin and the knight together Quote
*A:M User* Shelton Posted February 13, 2017 Author *A:M User* Posted February 13, 2017 I was playing witha few things. I tore apart teh knight model and was testing the armor to see how I was going to equip my knight. Also he has to have a maiden to protect. Quote
John Bigboote Posted February 13, 2017 Posted February 13, 2017 Great cartooniness! What rig do you have in mind for them? 1 Quote
*A:M User* Shelton Posted February 13, 2017 Author *A:M User* Posted February 13, 2017 I have used Mack Chapelle's Rig or the Saucy rig. I usually can get it in within a couple of hours without weighting. Quote
*A:M User* Shelton Posted February 17, 2017 Author *A:M User* Posted February 17, 2017 The Knight body is almost completed. Just a few bevels to the suit and will be completed. Quote
*A:M User* Shelton Posted February 17, 2017 Author *A:M User* Posted February 17, 2017 Thanks! Good to see you back around. I was wondering how your book was going? I start on the dragon tonight once I complete his sword. Quote
*A:M User* Shelton Posted February 18, 2017 Author *A:M User* Posted February 18, 2017 Last one of the day Quote
Admin Rodney Posted February 18, 2017 Admin Posted February 18, 2017 You are going down that... 'now why didn't I think of that' road. Outstanding characters. Characters with character even. There is only one thing more that I can say at present... Wireframes please!!! 1 Quote
*A:M User* Shelton Posted February 19, 2017 Author *A:M User* Posted February 19, 2017 Long day, thanks Rodney and David! I will render a wireframe and up load. I am 3/4 done with my dragon. I used my horse i created a long time ago and modified it. I took the feet off a raptor or dinosaur on the extra cd. Getting close. The wings are from my cupid and bird from the extra files. Anyway looking for a dragon texture or scales now. Hope to have render tomorrow. Quote
*A:M User* Shelton Posted February 20, 2017 Author *A:M User* Posted February 20, 2017 Here is a wireframe Quote
*A:M User* Shelton Posted February 20, 2017 Author *A:M User* Posted February 20, 2017 Here is the first render of the dragon. It started out as a horse. He is about 14 ft tall and about 32 ft long Quote
*A:M User* Shelton Posted February 20, 2017 Author *A:M User* Posted February 20, 2017 After sleeping on it. I am going to resize the dragon to make sure i can get him in the frame Quote
Admin Rodney Posted February 20, 2017 Admin Posted February 20, 2017 After sleeping on it. I am going to resize the dragon to make sure i can get him in the frame That's a good call. And... Thanks for the wireframe! Nice. Nice. Very nice. Quote
*A:M User* Shelton Posted February 21, 2017 Author *A:M User* Posted February 21, 2017 New shot with the corrected size Quote
*A:M User* Shelton Posted February 25, 2017 Author *A:M User* Posted February 25, 2017 Rigging of the knight has not been easy. I had to start over a couple of times and not sure that I might have to do it again. This maybe a custom rig. Quote
*A:M User* Shelton Posted March 12, 2017 Author *A:M User* Posted March 12, 2017 I started the rig on the knight last week and almost done with the bones install. I have to get the final orient like and roll like bones in. I have got most of the rig done on the dragon as well. Pausing to think about the wings at the present time. I have pulled a model I finished in 2006 and rig worked the horse for the knight. I am on vacay this next week so I hope to show more effort in the next few days. Quote
steve392 Posted March 12, 2017 Posted March 12, 2017 Theye look graet charectors Steve nicely done Quote
*A:M User* Shelton Posted March 13, 2017 Author *A:M User* Posted March 13, 2017 Horse sized to the knight. Now to rig Timothy - the Goblin (half Done) Sir Harold the Knight (Half completed) Alvin the Dragon (3/4 completed) Melissa the Maiden (3/4) completed Hector the horse (5% completed) Then on to the forest set. I have trees from other projects and a rolling hillside. This has been a fun diversion. Quote
*A:M User* Shelton Posted March 21, 2017 Author *A:M User* Posted March 21, 2017 The knight now has a new set of bones installed. I will build the relationships after I finish my animation assignment. Quote
*A:M User* Shelton Posted April 13, 2017 Author *A:M User* Posted April 13, 2017 I did a 4k rendering to match the new monitors and wow I love the details. This program still amazes me. Quote
*A:M User* Shelton Posted September 19, 2017 Author *A:M User* Posted September 19, 2017 I have finally got Timothy rigged. No smart skin but with some weighting. 1 Quote

Fuchur Posted September 24, 2017 Posted September 24, 2017 Very nice process and characters . Best regards *Fucgur* 1 Quote
*A:M User* Shelton Posted October 10, 2017 Author *A:M User* Posted October 10, 2017 I decided a few days ago to remove the very basic rig I had in the horse and replace it with a new one. I used the tsm2 quad rig. In doing so I had to remodel several key areas on the horse. I modeled the horse in 2006 but wanted to use it for this sequence. I also used a custom rig for the knight, and well lets say I was not happy. I was happy when Mack announced 1.5 of the saucy rig. I re rigged the knight with the saucy rig and I have just started weighting (only the legs are weighted). So now I will finish the horse and knight. Over the next few days I will be uploading pics of the process. 1 Quote
*A:M User* Shelton Posted November 15, 2017 Author *A:M User* Posted November 15, 2017 I have been smoothing and cleaning up the characters and adding little things. It has been slow going. I have added a little hair and will continue to make tim into a goblin. I have found to do a close up render will help find the problem areas. I have not worked on the eyelids yet but will get there. 1 Quote
*A:M User* Shelton Posted December 5, 2017 Author *A:M User* Posted December 5, 2017 I finished a new character. I am having some issues with cookie cut on the decals as you can see with her eyelashes. 1 Quote
