largento Posted September 4, 2009 Posted September 4, 2009 Hey-o! Thought I'd show this here... A dragon I was working on for a freelance job... Quote
Hash Fellow robcat2075 Posted September 4, 2009 Hash Fellow Posted September 4, 2009 Aw... she looks great! syndrome? Quote
largento Posted September 4, 2009 Author Posted September 4, 2009 Thanks. That's the syndrome where the client can't decide where they want the six thousand pound desk so they want you to move it all over the room until they find a place they like it. :-) Quote
steve392 Posted September 4, 2009 Posted September 4, 2009 Oh yea I like that Dragon he looks freindly Quote
KenH Posted September 4, 2009 Posted September 4, 2009 Ah well. Looks like the pirates will be encountering a dragon. Hope you didn't put your back out. Quote
Tralfaz Posted September 4, 2009 Posted September 4, 2009 Another great character Mark. Actually, all of your characters are well done, from the pirates to the Enterprise crew. Any tips or tutorials on how to learn to do character modelling? Al Quote
NancyGormezano Posted September 4, 2009 Posted September 4, 2009 That's the syndrome where the client can't decide where they want the six thousand pound desk so they want you to move it all over the room until they find a place they like it. :-) Oh poo on them - this is a fun character - I LOVE THE SWEATER - great touch... Perhaps this post might help for the next time? Quote
largento Posted September 4, 2009 Author Posted September 4, 2009 Thanks, everybody! I gotta' say you guys are making me feel much better. I was really bummed out by this. Nancy, that "contract" is hilarious ...and painfully true! SO painfully true! LOL, Ken, I had a similar thought. :-) Al, I've always been hesitant to do a modeling tutorial because the way I do my modeling is the way I learned from Barry Zundel's training videos. So if I were to do a tutorial, I'd be ripping him off. 'Sides, I think he's better at explaining it than I would be. A lot of mine is still seat-of-the-pants, I-wonder-what-would-happen-if-I-did-this kind of stuff. :-) In fact, for this model I didn't draw any rotoscopes. I just kind of had an idea of what it would look like and drew out the front and side views with splines and went from there. Quote
Gerry Posted September 6, 2009 Posted September 6, 2009 Wow, this kind of character without rotos... I'll have to check out Barry's tutes. Nice work, Mark, and I think you'll find some way to use this character. Quote
Hash Fellow robcat2075 Posted September 6, 2009 Hash Fellow Posted September 6, 2009 I am sort of wondering how the legs attach. I don't see an upper leg ("femur bone"). Is it hidden because he's squatting? Quote
largento Posted September 6, 2009 Author Posted September 6, 2009 LOL... I was waiting for someone to notice that. :-) Thanks, Gerry! Barry's videos are greatness! Quote
pixelplucker Posted September 7, 2009 Posted September 7, 2009 Looks really good, how do they know it's a she? Quote
largento Posted September 7, 2009 Author Posted September 7, 2009 Thanks! He's actually not a she, but I think they're seeing the spikes of the eyebrows and mistaking them for eyelashes. :-) Quote
largento Posted September 7, 2009 Author Posted September 7, 2009 Yeah, the story is one of those "kid gets zapped into the computer wonderland" deals. The description was that the floor was made from green tiles with silver lines on them. Quote
Zaryin Posted September 8, 2009 Posted September 8, 2009 I like him alot. I do think those brow horns are the problem with the gender reversal . Quote
