Very cool! :)

Is there no genre/theme you aren't good at?

(rhetorical question... we all know the answer to that)

Edit: If that is the freebie chicken I'd suggest altering him a little.

Open up the decal in your paint program and just make him your own.

Besides covering your arse I think it'd make your video all the better too.

Unless of course you want to include the chicken as a homage to Tak and the Power of JuJu.

Thanks Rodney! :D

I guess I will just remove the chicken. I thought the extras cd was free to use.

An entire DVD filled with Animation:Master model data, all completely license/royalty free (Included with the $299 Boxed version of Animation:Master)

The chicken is not a key character anyway, merely eyecandy in the background. ;)

No, don't get rid of him. He looks great and I think will add a lot to the film.

If I can find the decal I'll alter it for you.

I'd say the same thing about modifying the Knight too but he's an A:M icon.

The important thing is to make these characters and props your own.

It may not make much of a difference now but years later you'll be glad you did.

The resources on the CD/DVD are indeed all there to use.

--------------------------

On a technical note - brick wall patches/mortar

--------------------------

It may just be an illusion but I think a patch on the left side brick wall is reversed.

It makes the Mortar seem to come out of the wall whereas the other areas of the wall have it going in.

Thanks!

The Knight has already went through some altering ;)

Completely new helmet and even a face inside when the visor opens.

So the knight is deffinantly not so obvious anymore.

Can't wait to see what ya do to the chicken!

Got the email.

I'm curious about the general character of the chicken:

- Clueless

- Crazed

- Attentive

- Overly Happy

- Sleepy

- Fill in the proverbial blank _____________

I did a few quick tests and it looks like to be a straightforward job.

You might even be able to throw a couple different chickens in there if that isn't too distracting.

I agree with what others have said about your lighting.

Getting better and better all the time. This shot is really looking good.

Hi Rodney

I've been helping Gene on this project, modeling a few props. Spurred on by your comment that this looks to be a straight forward task, I thought I might give your suggestions about changing the decals a try. I opened the TGA's in Corel Photopaint (which you use) and was going to change just the colors to start with. Some decals had masks & others didn't.

I copied the tga's to a separate folder to revert to. I then tried to alter the originals, thinking that that would change the color of the model.

My attempts to change the colors were less than "pallette-able" and I have now officially "Baaaaalllked" at changing the chicken.

I know that time is a rare commodity for you, but perhaps you could walk us through a step by step of this process. Then we would know how to make the models on the Extra's CD our own.

( I seem to remember something of an army proverb about volunteering) :D

That would be my plan. I haven't forgotten I still owe you a few tutorials on using Coreldraw/Corel Photopaint with A:M.

The hardest part of it is determining a target to aim at.

If you guys don't have a preference I may go for 'slightly deranged' for the first chicken.

I'm in transit at the moment but will set to work as soon as I can.

It's a good thing I'm a bit lax in the memory department because if I remembered that very useful saying I might never volunteer for anything ever again. ;)

As far as the Alpha Channels/masks on some images but not on others I don't think it should make much of a difference. I noticed the same thing too but didn't see where the Alpha Channel effected much of anything. The decals seemed aligned properly with the geometry.
