Animus Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 This one could be too slow and long for the final, I wanted to try something with the 2 beautiful models by Jim Talbot. The rig isn't great though, the rigs have so much evolved since those guys were modeled. I might install the 2008 rig "in them". Sir_Nigel_ball.mov Michel
NancyGormezano Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 funny ! & very good - not too slow - not too long
Tunames Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 I like it! you might move the camera a bit to bring her into frame....

Just a few jerky bits in the stopping of the waiter, and Lady Goodbody's grabbing is a little robotic. But I love the concept, and the dejected look he has when she tosses the ball.
TNT Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 Who'da thunk there were so many funny ways to pass a ball! Please tweak and enter in the finals.
TheSpleen Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 yeah this pass the ball will be the best one yet!

You are right about those 2 points, I have to smooth the blending between the actions. Wish there was an IK FK switch on there rig. Michel
GizmoMkI Posted April 20, 2009 Posted April 20, 2009 That's really good. Even though there doesn't seem to be a lot of facial animation, that look she gives him is devastating. Here's an idea you might try using the same set: Perhaps Sir Nigel has to fish a wayward melon ball out of Lady Goodbody's decolletage using two spoons.

heyvern Posted April 27, 2009 Posted April 27, 2009 I love it! Reminds me a bit of Lara Croft and her butler. It's very similar to an idea I have... don't think I have time to produce it though. It requires some dialog and a lot of "acting" and maybe a bunch of "extras". Even under 9 seconds it's going to be some work. -vern
Animus Posted April 27, 2009 Author Posted April 27, 2009 Thank you! Glad you liked it. The clip turned out to be pretty much like the images I had in mind before starting. It's not often the case, that's why I like to have a theme like pass the ball, to stay short and focused. The animation is simple, Sir Nigel doesn't even have any facial poses; luckily most butlers wear the poker face. And there rig is obsolete, I missed The FK-IK switch I use all the time. But those models(Jim Talbot) have strong personalities even in a T-pose. Michel
