My first 3D model ever

Recommended Posts

Ok here is my first 3D model.

It is a Riser Manifold for a fire sprinkler wet system.

Since I work in this field I thought it would be good practice.

Each piece was made seperate then atatched to the base unit.

It is not quite finished, there are a few more things to do.

Ok Back to work[attachmentid=13494]

I could see this in TWO's Ku Klips workshop set. If you are so inclined you might like to have a chat to Vern the Set Manager to see if he can find a place for it!

Cheers

Thanks Everyone for your feedback.

I am working on some threaded fittings and grooved fittings.

heck,I guess I'm making a whole Fire sprinkler system.

There are a few more things to do,I'll post the final later.

Yes if this can be used by others,I will contribute. It would be an Honor.

OK,Here is the finished Riser manifold.

The switch is a VSR-F Water Flow Alarm Switch.

This software is great, can't wait for the 2006 to arrive.

Maybe I'm not looking at the right place, but I can't find Vern.

Can anyone help?

Thanks

his screen name is heyvern

Your model looks great... the G in Guage is cut off, and with a few bump maps the cast brass valves and black iron pipe fittings it will be dead on!

Our systems at work are pressurized wih air... if the air pressure drops, the alarms go off, and there are water flow alarms as well.

I think your idea of modeling things you work with on a daily basis is the best way to start, and you are proving it! You know how these things feel, so you have tactile input in addition to the visual.

Anyway, great job so far!

Thanks Guys,

I work in the design dept, for sprinkler systems in buildings.

I thought about doing a dry pipe valve( this one has air pressure).

I recieved the 2006, Thanks Martin.

Is this the version 13 I heard about?

I'm kinda confused, as I see on the update page it has v12 for 2006.

You have ver. 12 with the 2006 CD. You can upgrade online thru ~April or so in '07 (I might be mistaken about this)... 13 is still in Alpha... but will start being beta, and you can upgrade to it now or later.

Ver 13 changes all models from previous versions.... so models made or edited in 13 are not Backwards compatible... but v 11 and 12 models are forward compatible.

You can get a current alpha of v13 in the movie project area... be careful moving stuff you've done in earlier versions... It's an alpha version...
