DrPhibes Posted May 4, 2005 Posted May 4, 2005 It has been awhile since I posted any new work or entered any contests, but that is soon to change. I thought I would start off by posting a few of my older pieces entered in past contests. http://www.hash.com/stills/displayimage.php?pos=-1026 http://www.hash.com/stills/displayimage.php?pos=-1025 http://www.hash.com/stills/displayimage.php?pos=-1024 http://www.hash.com/stills/displayimage.php?pos=-1023 http://www.hash.com/stills/displayimage.php?pos=-1022 http://www.hash.com/stills/displayimage.php?pos=-1021 Quote

Admin Rodney Posted May 4, 2005 Admin Posted May 4, 2005 you were probably well known The understatement of 2005. This image has always been a personal favorite of mine: Charles Baggage Imagery Quote
pixelmech Posted May 4, 2005 Posted May 4, 2005 Holy cow what rock have you been hiding under! Wonderful stuff, look forward to seeing more. Quote
Zaryin Posted May 4, 2005 Posted May 4, 2005 It's good to have one of my inspirations back in the grind. Welcome Back. Quote
DrPhibes Posted May 4, 2005 Author Posted May 4, 2005 Thanks for the comments do you get paid for your work? Yes, but mostly for the real world stuff I do. Not so much for the 3D work Hey man, could you update that tute? Working on it It is one of my goals this month. Holy cow what rock have you been hiding under! Sadly it has been a rock in the real world and not one of AM patches I have been mostly working on physical props for movies and TV, like this goofy little guy. (These are photos, not AM renders) Alien 01 Alien 02 Alien 03 Quote
heyvern Posted May 4, 2005 Posted May 4, 2005 Wow! It's like the return of Paul Atreides in "Children of Dune"... only with out the blindness... and all the sand... not as many worms. Or like... when you think the governor of California is blown up in the gas truck while chasing Catherine Chandler... but he crawls out of the wreckage... with only a slight limp. Or when you thought Catherine Tramell was shot dead by Maximus but she comes back to shoot Lex Luther right in the head. I could go on... but I won't. Good to see you back. Quote
KenH Posted May 4, 2005 Posted May 4, 2005 Wow...cool work if you can get it. Nice AM images too! Don't be a stranger to the later versions! Quote
Mr. Jaqe Posted May 4, 2005 Posted May 4, 2005 ooooOOOOoooo! Is the scene AM-made aswell? It looks so darn real and artificial at the same time, I can't tell. Quote
seven Posted May 4, 2005 Posted May 4, 2005 http://www-groups.dcs.st-and.ac.uk/~histor...ns/Babbage.html This was an underestimate. The construction of modern computers, logically similar to Babbage's design, have changed the whole of mathematics and it is even not an exaggeration to say that they have changed the whole world. Are you relatives? Quote
Mr. Jaqe Posted May 4, 2005 Posted May 4, 2005 http://www-groups.dcs.st-and.ac.uk/~histor...ns/Babbage.html Interesting... I actaully have a great-grandparrent that was in the team that created IBM's first computer, if I don't remember incorrectly. Quote
Paul Forwood Posted May 4, 2005 Posted May 4, 2005 Great to see you back here, Charles! That 'Newbie', under your avatar looks ridiculous. Quote
DrPhibes Posted May 4, 2005 Author Posted May 4, 2005 Is the scene AM-made aswell? If you mean the alien pics, those are NOT AM: renders, just photos. Are you relatives? My grandfather said he was a great, great, great, uncle. I was indeed named after him. For those interested the best bio on him I have read in called "The Difference Engine" (US title) or "The Cogwheel Brain" (UK title) by Doron Swade. Charles babbage also invented skeleton keys, the first speedometer for railroads, and the locomotive pilot (cowcatcher) That 'Newbie', under your avatar looks ridiculous. That is the Scarlet Letter I wear for not posting enough <_> Quote
