  1. humour me on this. Render it as a short animation and see if the blur works. Something I've found is that if I'm rendering a single frame only, a motion blur does not render, but if I'm rendering multiple frames, the blur does render. Then if you render to multiple TGA files or something, you could pick one with a nice blur on it.
  2. now we need a pancake! looks very good and sticky!
  3. Well, I know Robert has an awesome one from seeing his syrup tests. Bug him for it cause it's a cool glass!
  4. all da cool stuff is here: http://www.hash.com/forums/index.php?showt...mp;#entry325971
  5. volumetrics create some cool and fairly fast rendering fog. They're my primary choice and they're very easy to set up
  6. does it vibrate when you die? Otherwise, don't want it Good job though, you're modeling is definitely lightyears ahead of mine (thus the awesome looking Spitfire model you made, which you can have a copy of the completed ship if you want)
  7. you can lower how much a constraint works on something by clicking on the constraint in the PWS and then setting the Tolerance I think it is, or something along those lines to a lower number. As for audio, I generally use MP3 at 44.1KHZ and 128kbps or higher. Any editing program for the most part will import and use MP3s. It's one of the few universal formats out there
  8. I use BMP, but that's because of the issues I have with AM integrating with OS10.5.8 , I can't access the Set function for JPG images, so I use BMPs
  9. unfortunately, AM can only add WAV files, like the largest audio file format known to the human race.
  10. ahhh, the fresh scent of adobe in the morning, making file sizes 4 times larger than they need to be
  11. hey, that's great for working out motion and stuff. It's sort of like those poseable models for figure drawing and whatnot.
  12. my favourite Irwin Allen show is The Time Tunnel, that was really good, it wasn't really a goofy show and was quite captivating. They were going to do a remake of it back in 2007, but it never got off the ground.
  13. i've only seen the movie, it's quite good.
  14. I love that sub, the one from Seaquest DSV was kind of cool, though very 90s looking
  15. again, that glass blows my mind with its realism. and that's a cool syrup test too, looks very sticky
  16. that is something similar to what I've been dealing with for ELZ. I've been trying to gt the chor action to set a keyframe to merge with the action, but so far, I have to do everything bone by bone which is a nuisance
  17. life has a funny way of working itself out, and my grandmother had a mole removed from her arm this summer, and for being such a small mark on her body, it was like you said, a very large incision
  18. ok, how'd you get that cannon ball matcap working with movement, I coincidentally tried it this morning and it just remains stationary on my object, no matter where it goes and where the light is
  19. very very nice, though I have a question, how are you rendering and/or texturing this to give it that nice look. It's almost like AO without the fuzziness or brightness
  20. I've been fiddling with constraint on bones as well, and from what I can figure, it would go something like this. Create a new pose for your model. In the action window, click on one of the bones, in the properties, there is something about role in a particular axis, try fiddling with that. Sorry I can't be of more help
  21. well, if you're PC, than conversion is unnecessary, as Windows reads MPEG2 better than the Mac does. What type of DVD authoring software did you computer come with (ie, Roxio, Nero etc). If your video is only 6 minutes, I can also author it for you if you wish, or I could just walk you through, doesn't matter to me
  22. sorry, missed the pic, it has most of that info, but yeah, are you windows or mac?
  23. ok, ok, finally someone has hit something more in my area of expertise here! First, some info I need to be clear on, what is your video now? Is it exported as a whole (like an AVI or MOV or something) or is it still in AM? Or, is it in an editing program waiting to be exported? If the original video isn't HD (meaning 720p or higher) then I would say don't bother. If your friend has an HDTV, then most likely has a Blu-Ray player correct? And even if he doesn't, I imagine he has either an upconverter, or his DVD player is using component video rather than composite video. (Stuff ou don't really need to know) but yes, I need to know what the completed vid is at now, and what type of PC you are using
  24. see, that's the point where I would deem the project not worthy, I haven't got patience in that area of nitpicky little things. I can wait around for some things, but not others, this is one of them! That is more proof of Eric's skill as he does have that patience
  25. that's like exactly how i envisioned the sub when I read the book
