  1. yeah, i posted that there was an issue in the forum changeover thread
  2. Star Wars vs 2001 Space Odyssey AKA: Battle of the modelers!
  3. Did I say something wrong to get my post deleted, or is it just some glitch or something?
  4. oh wow, forgot about this project, very nice, my brother will be happy to see that some more work has gotten done on this!
  5. i see, well, they're very well done. As good as the toon shader is, it's too bad it doesn't make things look hand drawn enough

  6. ah ha, so greyhalk is gonna make an appearence in wannabe, i just knew it!
  7. ooooh, same version as me. um, AM ain't such a great idea on that version of mac, upgrade to OS10.6 and I think you won't have that many issues with the software, but 10.5.8 is very very buggy and annoying
  8. I am curious though, how do you go about doing it? Like, it isn't just toon shaded in AM is it? Cause they really look hand drawn

  9. wait...there's a chat here? wow, three years of being here and I didn't know we had a chat
  10. It's a good buy, but first, what Operating System do you use?
  11. softpedia is a fairly reliable site, that will prompt you to pay for software if it is something that isn't free or a trial. Where you purchase the license and not the software, it may have thrown whoever does softpedia off
  12. not to discourage you from playing with AM, but why not simply use hair for hair? From what I can tell, the Hair emitter has some in depth dynamics and stuff, and looks like it reacts very naturally. I've never used cloth before so I can't help you with anything like that
  13. I just spent over 2 hours finally catching up on wannabe and starbucklers, I'm up to about oct 2009, but it's a great read and very fun, love it!

  14. there's now a demo version? I thought that there wasn't one?
  15. I'm figuring you ran into the problem that you would select all five points but the five point patch tool wouldn't light up?
  16. well, looks like you got a five-pointer, so what you need to do, is SHIFT+Select those five CPs, then hit the period button twice (just to be sure it works). The in your toolbar on the right, there should be a button that's lit up near the bottom, and it's the Five-Point Patch tool
  17. odd, normally flipping the normals fixes bump map issues, do you have a prj or mdl on here already?
  18. oh, and about the speed factor, at least by the end of the week you have something substantial to show for your efforts, I'll be lucky to complete 30 seconds of footage in a weeks time
  19. that's a very nice looking character, like the feel of it
  20. well i see a massive improvement in your technique since the beginning (course you were always miles ahead of me to being with ) But everything looks so clean and well done. Unfortunately I never got on the bandwagon to reading the comics from day one, so I pretty much just look at the pretty pictures now No but seriously, it's a very good job and an inspiration
  21. your normals are facing the right way aren't they?
  22. I can't believe these are two years old now. I mean, it seems like only yesterday that I was newbling to this site, excited by the concept of stalled trek (which live up to its title ) I find it inspiring how you're able to pump these out, so much so that I might turn some of my ideas into comic strips as opposed to films or animations, might save time, I dunno, perhaps I'll just continue to save my focus for ELZ
  23. looks like rob might give john a run for his money with King of Mat's title Nice job, looks cool and shiny and....wet
  24. that's what i always liked about this place, just how you guys can go at it and not only solve a problem, come up with multiple solutions, a new way of doing something, or a completely brand new effect/technique no one's done yet with AM. Always very informative. And another corel user, nice, though I'd switch to photoshop if I had the money (i'd keep corel draw though, best vector program ever) And I really like the look you got happening here, though where you're using a symbiot mat, have you tried baking it or whatever and apply it as a decal or whatever that technique is, one it'd probably help with the bump issue and two, you'll shave about two or more minutes off your render
  25. if it was art deco, made dad would just love you, being art nouveau, he'll like you, just not as much as if it was deco, as you can guess, he's a deco fan, I myself prefer the surrealist movement for some reason, and then after that, it's a tie between the neo-classical and renaissance
