  1. A little update for anyone who reads this. Me and Rodney have turned this into a little group project I guess you could say. I've been finishing up the script rewrite and he's been proof reading it and giving me great insight and feedback. I'd have to say we make a good team. Hopefully we will have it finished up soon and can start the animatic!!! Stay tuned...
  2. This is my 1000 post on the AM forums!!!! I've been coming here for years and I'm just as excited about it now as I was years ago!!!! Here's to 1000 more
  3. This is looking good. I can't wait to see what others bring to the table!!!
  4. I love seeing actual animations made with AM popping back up on the forums!!! Keep going!!!
  5. Just seems a bit floaty from one word to the next. His mouth slowly closes and perhaps it needs to be quicker during the long pauses. It could just be me. I would definitly have his mouth a bit more snappy with that dialogue but again, it could just be me.
  6. A little floaty but over all pretty nice. I do have to wonder what he will be doing in this little short.
  7. Do you have access to a later version of the 32bit version? I'll usually do my animation in 64bit and then if I need to render to quicktime I'll load the project into 32bit version and render out.
  8. For monitor calibration check out this site: http://epaperpress.com/monitorcal/index.html
  9. Wasn't sure where to post this so I posted it here as I will be refering to AM. GPU rendering. Is it faster and if so are there any plans to incorporate this feature into AM? If it was implemented I would pay a little extra to get the functionality. I think GPU rendering, if faster, would be worth more on the over head price of AM. ...any thoughts???
  10. This is one of those "Personnal Preference" topics. It's a matter of finding a solution that works for you. I tend to use the auto assign function and then I open up an action window and pose the character in the most extreme poses I can think of. I usually start with the knees, and fix those. Then I do the elbows and wrists. I do these first because they are the easiest to work on. Then I tackle the shoulders which takes a while. Then I do the pelvic area and work my way up the spine. This is my usual train of thought. Hey Nancy! Nice work with those links!
  11. Here is an update to Cleo as well. Her details are very fine and I finally have a costume designed for her.
  12. It took me a while to come up with a concept for Death. I mean I really been racking the old noggin on this one. If some of you remember a while back I did two skeletal models. After careful consideration and about a billion drawings I returned to these two models and decided I liked one in particular. Not everything about him of course. I will be modifying him quite a bit but the overall style fits in nicely with what I am looking for. So, here he is with a few said modifications. He still a work in progress so I will be posting more picks as I finish him up. Of course Death has two different looks. The one I am showing here and the final one near the conclusion of the film. For now I will be working on this, his main look.
  13. I would say google interior ufo concepts for inspiration. I'm not saying copy someone else's design. Just look to others work for inspiration to get you rolling on your own.
  14. I would definitly recommend getting away from Vista as soon as possible. It's horrible. And it sounds like you are using the 32bit version. One old bug that used to cause me crashes all the time was the swapping between wireframe and patch modes. It's best to work primarily in wireframe mode and swap only to patch mode when you need to check a detail on the mesh. Be sure to save often.
  15. I know I am running this little contest but I hope no one has any objection to me running a small piece as well...just kidding Rules are posted at the top...
  16. I have all the rules and what-not ready to be posted. I have taken all of your suggestions into consideration and once I have HASH's go-ahead for the prizes I will be posting them.
  17. Thanks Rodney. I appreciate the help. I'm writing up the guidelines now, going to be pretty close to what's been posted before. I should have them ready by tomorrow. If participation gets high enough this should really be a ton of fun.
